You can only view the results on a 3D TV (the FZ48 records standard MPO files), and although it isn't as effective as images taken with Panasonic's 3D Micro Four Thirds lens or the Fujifilm 3D W3, for example, it does create quite a convincing effect which particularly suits subjects that are close-up to the camera.

Video performance is very good - 60p full HD footage is nice and detailed, and although not up the quality of an external microphone the FZ150's inbuilt stereo mic does a decent job in day to day use.

The picture quality remains superb, but as competing compact cameras upgrade to CMOS technology for improved low light shooting and burst modes, the advantages of a large lens and flash in a CCD-based bridge camera are diminished in many situations.
Lumix DMC-FZ47 by Terry-R.-Umbenhaur--Video-Gaming-Ninja
I just wish someone would put a DSLR size sensor in a mega zoom camera!

With wide angle at 25mm you can get everybody in your photo on group shots, don't need to step back or squeeze everybody together like you do with many point and shoots.

Unfortunately, the continuous shooting feature is still crippled, there is still no way to lock the exposure/aperture settings in Auto mode, and no option to hold the current shot on the LCD while the shutter button is depressed.

I had great hopes for this camera cause it fit what I wanted, eye-level viewfinder, fast lens, light, compact, good price, all the great stuff this camera offers.

Yes, that ancient FZ10 had a metal body, where the new FZ47 is plastic instead... But the optics are great, the autofocus is great, the low light is very, very good, the bright light is superb, the speed is blazing, and the zoom is friggin' awesome... I just love it.
Lumix DMC-FZ47 by J.-Kendall (Dec, 2011)
I like the FZ150, it's a nice, light camera, easy to use, zoom's great, video works nice.

It's the camera you have with you, a very practical bring along camera, light-weight with decent quality, unless you're a real purist.
Lumix DMC-FZ47 by Randall-Allen--Sierra-Biker (Nov, 2012)
I love the weight, much lighter than the cameras that take 4 AA batteries (really)!

Never-the-less, while the ASA100 is better, I would have been quite satisfied with the ASA400 if that's all I could get!

sensor

The 1/2.33 inch, 12 megapixel CCD sensor used in the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ48 produces noise-free images at ISO 100-200, with limited noise and colour desaturation starting to appear at ISO 400.

So if you're taking shots of a child indoors, the DMC-FZ48 automatically raises the ISO and in turn the shutter speed to avoid blurring the child's movement.

Like most point-and-shoots the FZ47 does well up to ISO 200, so the more light you give it, the better your photos.

In challenging conditions the FZ150 gives better image quality than its predecessor thanks, in great part, to Panasonic's decision to go with a much more capable 12 megapixel CMOS sensor instead of the FZ100's unimpressive 14MP unit.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 | Rated 76% by by DPReview (Apr, 2012)
The Panasonic DMC-FZ150 CMOS-powered 24X superzoom is a replacement for the slightly unloved FZ100 and incorporates a lower-resolution 12MP sensor that the company says will outperform its predecessor's 14MP chip.
