DC-ZS3 produced fairly good pictures for a compact camera, but I thought I could use all the new bells and whistles that came with DC-ZS20 such as better zoom, panoramic shots etc..

It does not shoot RAW which I never do.

Furthermore, with single images files as large as almost 13 MB in size from the 14.1 megapixel sensor, you have more than enough pixels to do some serious Photoshop work even without having RAW files to work with.

I like the wide angle of the lens- great for group shots.

The main reason for me (and the one most reviewers never mention) is the extra optical zoom up to 25x if you limit the image size to 5 MPix which is large enough for a quality 8x10 inch print.

The camera takes a burst of exposures, bracketing the aperture, and then automatically combines them to produce a single image with a well-lit foreground.

Just realized how well the zoom and I suppose it must be the image stabilisation, because this camera has much more zoom power than my previous camera, but it is much easier to use (minimal to no shake).

I own a ZS6 and loved it, but because the ZS20 has 20x zoom and it can take still images while taking videos, I thought it was time to upgrade and I bought one.

The Panasonic ZS20 is the first I've used that has the combination of a very fast lens and a good stabilizer.

The ZS20's zoom range from 24mm wide open to 480mm fully optical at 14 mpx has to be seen to be believed.

I'm glad I waited for the ZS20 to be released and didn't get the new Nicon or Canon telephoto versions.
