The large size meant that it didn't fit in the camera bag that I bought specifically for the back pouch intended for a laptop.

I have a 3D big screen and enjoy it very much and the superb display on this ASUS would make it nice to have on the laptop too.

This thing is big (including PS); but it's a 17 display and appears to be well built.

Hardware construction is top-notch, the large screen is a pleasure.

I had a Clevo 2.6 ghz Core 2 Duo previously, and its webcam gives me a full 30 FPS so I can make YouTube videos off of it.

Other than that, video card rocks (better than old 8800M GTX), 8 GB RAM rocks, quad core Sandy Bridge is superior to Core 2 Duo in every way.

Pros: I've had it for a week now and all I can say is WOW, It runs and eats any task I throw at just as fast as my desktop (My desktop has a Phenom x4 @3.5Ghz and a GTX460 @900Mhz).

I've tested it with heavy performance sessions under Prime 95 (application to make your RAM and processor use as many threads/resources as possible to test voltage or hardware malfunction) and both fans work 100% as they raised the RPMs to max you can certainly feel they are taking a HUGE amount of heat out of the case.

Computer has 8GB of 1333Mhz RAM (4x 2GB), so it'll be expensive to upgrade RAM to 12GB(2*2 + 4*2) or 16GB(4*4) (since there are no extra free slots and you'll have to throw away existing RAM).
G73 Series G73SW by DMITRI-KIVILEV (Mar, 2011)
This thing outperforms my 1.5 year old quad core/8gb ram desktop!!:O I'm not sure if that is a good thing.

most beautiful laptop screen i have ever seen, colors are very vivid makes my last laptop screen and my desktop screen look like crap.

The screen's resolution, clarity and brightness is the best I've seen anywhere on a computer.

With the 8GB of DDR3 RAM(up to 16GB), two 500GB hybrid drives from Seagate, i7 proc, Nvidia graphics makes its specs nice and high for the cost of the machine especially now that it is a year later.

Keyboard

The lamps from the backlit keyboard can be seen under and around the key unless you sit high above the keyboard looking down.

Other Thoughts: Refurbished VS New: Considering this model is refurbished I haven't had any issues with it at all involving any hardware malfunction etc, I update the Nvidia drivers to the latest and all the drivers for Trackpad, preset buttons etc and they work just fine, the keyboard backlighting is very good and the Fn button has keys to lower and raise brightnes on it just like the screen.

It would have been nice to choose one or two other illuminating colors for the keyboard.

Storage

OCZ Technology 120 GB Vertex 2 Series SATA II 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G (I like the 750GB HDD + 120GB SSD configuration better than 500GB HDD + 500GB HDD).

I'm going to throw in a SATA III SSD soon to address the one bottleneck in performance, the hard drive.

they replaced the keyboard (w/ a different color one for some reason) and hard drive (which now makes a clicky noise once in a while).

It's got a great look, truly keeps the system cool under gaming loads (running Rift at the moment on Ultra settings) and is quick and smooth.
