G74 Series G74SX by John-Malachowski--Imafoolru12 (Apr, 2012)There are so many positive aspects to this computer and its design, from the cooling system (quite possibly one of the best designs I have ever seen for a laptop) to the rich hardware (16 GB RAM and a solid state drive plus the i7 (which does boost to 3.0 GHz)) all cooperate fantastically together.
G74 Series G74SX by Ken-G. (Mar, 2012)Amount of RAM, processor speed, dedicated VRAM and screen size/resolution are truly top notch.

3DMark06 CPU
G74 Series G74SX by Braden1996 (Aug, 2011)While the appearances of the Notebook was quite important to me, it did not take precedence over performance; this laptop performs admirably in all applications varying from Games to benchmarks to everything else.
G74 Series G74SX by John-Malachowski--Imafoolru12 (Apr, 2012)~. If you are a gamer, which I am only the casual type (but am considering buying modern warfare 3 seen as I don't doubt this rigs ability to run it), I can tell you that the 3DMark scores (and others) posted by reviews are accurate and my framerate in CS 1.6 at 1920x1080 with light levels of AA and AF will not budge from 100 fps.

G74 Series G74SX by R.-Garrett (Nov, 2011)It's also an amazingly quiet machine even when running CPU/GPU intensive apps.Performance-wise, it's very solid.
G74 Series G74SX by Fani (Apr, 2012)There is some kind of Intel CPU monitor which could allow it to set the speed to highest, but I don't see any option to do so.

ASUS G74 Series G74SX 17.3", 2.2 GHz, 12 GB, 160 GB SSD | Rated 100% by by Christopher-Chavis (Sep, 2011)The Laptop bag is smaller for extra storage but plenty big for the laptop and its stuff.
ASUS G74 Series G74SX 17.3", 2.2 GHz, 12 GB, 160 GB SSD | Rated 100% by by Peter-PhillipsI have also since replaced the secondary hard drive with a. Samsung 830 Series 128 GB SATA III SSD, also with great results.-I also wanted a wireless card with better support in other operating systems and a better reputation for good performance than the wireless card this laptop shipped with an AzureWave AW-NB037H, so I purchased and installed an Intel 6230 WiFi + Bluetooth 3.0 adapter.

ASUS G74 Series G74SX 17.3", 2.2 GHz, 12 GB, 160 GB SSD | Rated 100% by by sjpzzz (Nov, 2011)Storage size, unless you are a kid, most adults don't have enough free time to fill up a 160GB + 240GB SSD drive and if you do, you are making enough money to afford a larger SSD; so either way SSD is the only way to go.

ASUS G74 Series G74SX 17.3", 2.2 GHz, 12 GB, 160 GB SSD | Rated 100% by by Peter-PhillipsI haven't used the 3D glasses much yet, but even so I recommend this model over the other G74SX models that lack the 3D display since the matte screen and very high brightness capabilities of the 3D panel make it possible to work in what would otherwise have been poor lighting conditions for the dimmer, glossy-screened 2D models.
