ENVY 14 by T-Bone--Tony407 (Aug, 2012)The Dell is much thinner and smaller, and the screen size is almost as big, hardly noticeable to me.
ENVY 14 by LaptopMag (Aug, 2010)HP has tweaked the design by adding an optical drive and a backlit keyboard, but the most intriguing change is the new display size of 14.5 inches.
screen resolution
ENVY 14 by saturnotakuThe resolution of 1366x768 isn't a huge issue for me, but at one point, HP did offer the Envy 14 with a high-resolution (1600x900) "Radiance" display that was of excellent quality and color reproduction.
ENVY 14 by LaptopMag (Aug, 2011)Despite some distracting reflections, we appreciated the vibrant pinks, greens, and yellows in the 1080p trailer of The Help on YouTube.

ENVY 14 by Gabriel-s-Buddy (Jul, 2012)The GHZ rating (1.7) means less nowadays with multiple cores and speed boosting technology, so I won't try to compare based on that.
ENVY 14 by J.-L.-Gray--contractor (Feb, 2011)The clock speed (CPU) is outstanding, programs open in the blink of an eye and I run a lot of "heavy" software like photoshop, cad programs, and accounting software.
processor
ENVY 14 by LaptopMag (Aug, 2010)For that, you get a 2.4-GHz Intel Core i3-370M dual core processor, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB, 7,200-rpm hard drive, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics, and a 1366 x 768 BrightView Infinity LED display.
ENVY 14 by yamugushi (Jul, 2011)A bit on the specs, this laptop is pretty fast, I love its large 7200 rpm HD (which copied all my music and videos in like 20 mins, which was much faster than it was when I wrote to a 5400) the i5 seems fast, with no hiccups so far.

ENVY 14 by Bradley-Bevers--the-lucid-blog (Jul, 2012)Start-up is fast, but it needs the RAM upgraded out of the box.
