Pavilion dm1 by William-Banning--johnnya80 (May, 2012)The hardware it's comparable: they both have 1.6ghz dual core processors, and I know this doesn't have a solid state drive like the Mac, but it does have a 500gb hard drive instead of the 64gb ssd in the Mac, and I can always or in a ssd for around a hundred bucks if I want.

Touchpad
HP Pavilion dm1 11.6", 1.6 GHz, 3 GB, 250 GB HDD | Rated 100% by by J.-Oh--aletheia67TOUCHPAD: while others are not thrilled with the touchpad, I did not see any difference between the touchpad of Asus 1000HA and dm1.
HP Pavilion dm1 11.6", 1.6 GHz, 3 GB, 250 GB HDD | Rated 100% by by Luffy (May, 2011)> Touchpad - When you double-tap the top left corner of the touchpad, a small orange light comes on in its place indicating that the touchpad has been turned off, so one can type without constantly hitting it.
HP Pavilion dm1 11.6", 1.6 GHz, 3 GB, 250 GB HDD | Rated 80% by by JJ (May, 2011)Touchpad - I agree with the other reviewers: the touchpad is horrible.

Storage
HP Pavilion dm1 11.6", 1.6 GHz, 3 GB, 250 GB HDD | Rated 100% by by zdeuyo (Apr, 2012)Note: Forget the fancy detail of, "HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection", the fact that a laptop this portable has 500GB at 5400rpm is standard, a 7200rpm or a SSD hard drive would have been better.
HP Pavilion dm1 11.6", 1.6 GHz, 3 GB, 250 GB HDD | Rated 100% by by S.-Starinski--engineer (Sep, 2012)& replaced with Crucial SSD, sold HDD (note: HDD is 5400 rpm speed, unlike my HP Elitebook's whose HDD is 7200rpm also coupled with SSD except it's Intel-branded).
HP Pavilion dm1 11.6", 1.6 GHz, 3 GB, 250 GB HDD | Rated 100% by by Jason (Feb, 2012)There's an extra memory slot to add another 4GB of RAM, and at some point I'll probably replace the HDD with an SSD, so the performance is only going to get better, but even as it is now it's performing admirably for what it is.
