Rated 80% by by Clovis-Rondon (Jan, 2012)There is no doubt whatsoever that the Acer AS5560-Sb613 has a quad-core processor.
Rated 80% by by Mark-Fellows--Gadget-Guy (Jul, 2012)The laptop is a step above the competition in this price range, as it has an Intel Core I5 processor, while most in this range, have an I 3.
Conclusion Which is better for you?
Features Key features of the Acer Aspire S 5560 compared to the ASUS K53 Series K53E
GHz2.4
AMD A-Series A8 3500M
Rated 60% by by dan (Aug, 2012)I would prefer to have a dual core with better individual clock speeds than a quad stuck at 1.5GHz.
2.2 GHz
Intel Core i3 2330M
Rated 80% by by Mark-Fellows--Gadget-Guy (Jul, 2012)The laptop has some precise graphics controls for color hues, gamma, contrast, sharpness, and 3 separate color controls for Red Blue and Green, which helps you take out color hues in the monitor, so when you edit your photos, you get true colors.

15.6"
Aspire S 5560 by Susan (Apr, 2012)I like that it's light, the screen in big and it was all in my budget.
K53 Series K53E by DCB (Jan, 2012)I love the ribbed brown cover, it's almost a copper shade, and the outside dimensions make the whole notebook look very sleek, eventhough it has a large 15.6 screen.
screen resolution
Aspire S 5560 by Travis-Keatley (Dec, 2011)This laptop also plays 1080p like a champ, and can handle other processor-intensive programs with ease, such as video or picture editing.
K53 Series K53E by ceb111481--ceb111481 (Sep, 2011)It's very quiet, stays cool, the screen has good resolution, also has a fast processor and it is easy to use.
cpu speed
| 0 GHz | 2.4 GHz | 3 GHz |
Aspire S 5560 by dan (Aug, 2012)The processor clock speed is pretty low, 1.5GHz, and you will never see higher than that.
K53 Series K53E by Dean-Chen (Aug, 2011)The new i3 processor is more then up to the task and I'm almost willing to bet it's probably a little bit faster and better processing power as my Core 2 Quad that I have in my desktop machine.
processor
Aspire S 5560 by CAD-Manager (Jan, 2012)The specs from AMD for the CPU say that it overclocks a single core to 2.4 Ghz on high demand, but I have found that is actually will overclock as many as 2 cores to 2.4 Ghz under heavy loads and then immediately will downclock to 900 Mhz to save battery life and reduce core temperatures.
K53 Series K53E by True-Crime-Fanatic (Jan, 2012)I bought this computer because it was the lowest costing Intel Core i5 processor I could find.
memory
| 0 GB | 4 GB | 4 GB |
Aspire S 5560 by Travis-Keatley (Dec, 2011)The specs were there: quad core, decent graphics processor, plenty of hard drive space, ample ram, yet I was still worried that the actual performance would not match the numbers.
K53 Series K53E by jaspreet (Mar, 2012)The 4gb ram is perfect since for a normal user you dont usually use more than 4gb of ram.

K53 Series K53E by True-Crime-Fanatic (Jan, 2012)But obviously an Intel Core i5 processor does not necessarily mean that you can count on performance and quality.
