They raised the bar a little in my book with the Bangen & Olufsen speakers + subwoofer combo that really puts out fantastic sound.

Its the small touches such as the medium grey marked keys, to the metallic ASUS logo etched into the metal bar below the screen that makes this laptop feel like its not pushing the brand in your face like many other makers but yet you know its an ASUS with a track record for reliability (in my experience with their motherboards).

The GT555m can do even better with just some slight overclocking but the computer itself performs remarkable and it has the specs I want to play just about any game on the market while not being a heavy 17" monster or a 15" oven.

If you can live with the slight bulky design and 6lbs weight, you'll be able to enjoy the high quality JBL speakers, brilliant BRGLED display, and more than adequate performance it has to offer.

As far as the weight is concerned, this pal is heavy and looks chubby.

I had this issue, but fortunately, I happened to have made these DVDs (in my case, DVD images-four DVDs), so I could have reverted it to the out-of-factory state.

Asus really hit the sweet spot with this laptop and I am extremely pleased with the combination of features that strike a balance with the 15.6" form factor as well as a beautiful screen.

For working or gaming at home, I would probably plugin my own mechanical keyboard so this is a non-issue for me but I still think its great they were able to fit a tenkey and some function keys in this thing.
