Intel Atom N570
Rated 100% by by Perry-Carmichael--pc (Jul, 2011)Nearly instant on (no waiting for Windoze), great screen size -neither too big nor too small- pretty much virus proof (Not even a mac book can make that claim any more) and always up to date with the latest software.

SAMSUNG Chromebook Series 5 550 1.66 GHz, 16 GB SSD | Rated 59% by by c|net (Jun, 2011)I tried hopping off Wi-Fi and using the Verizon 3G data connection (built in to the $549 version of the Samsung Series 5 Chromebook, but not present on the $449 Wi-Fi-only model) to set up "free" 3G wireless, and the process was generally painless.
SAMSUNG Chromebook Series 5 550 1.66 GHz, 16 GB SSD | Rated 60% by by R.-Robinson--Dharma-Keeper (May, 2011)The cpu will cut down significantly on streaming video stuttering that the acer chromebook will see (only the acer wifi only version has the N570, but a smaller screen though; as of June 2011 pay the few extra dollars and get the Samsung 3g unit... On a final note: I almost wish I hadnt bought my ipad2, but I got tired of waiting for the chromebook to release and needed a portable computing device(I dont use windows netbook/laptops or Mac)).

SAMSUNG Chromebook Series 5 550 1.66 GHz, 16 GB SSD | Rated 59% by by c|net (Jun, 2011)Something that on a Windows or Mac system takes a couple of seconds to do, on a Chromebook requires finding a site, uploading the file, waiting for the file to be processed, and then downloading the file.
SAMSUNG Chromebook Series 5 550 1.66 GHz, 16 GB SSD | Rated 59% by by c|net (Jun, 2011)Our experience with the Samsung Series 5 Chromebook last year left us underwhelmed: it had smoothly running hardware and a clean operating system, but with such a limited set of uses compared with Windows, a high sticker price of over $400, and the requirement of being online to use most apps like Google Docs, the Chromebook didn't add up to a logical choice for anyone other than a Google cloud devotee.
Acer Chromebook AC700 11.6", 1.66 GHz, 2 GB, 16 GB SSD | Rated 100% by by Nano-Nano (Sep, 2011)And this Acer chromebook doesn't replace a phone obviously simply because it's too big (though you can make and receive calls from it using google voice), but between chrome os and android, I like chrome os much much better.

SAMSUNG Chromebook Series 5 550 1.66 GHz, 16 GB SSD | by LaptopMag (Jun, 2011)Click to enlargeOwing to its lightweight operating system and high-speed Solid State Drive, Samsung trumpets a boot time of less than 10 seconds and instant resume from sleep as one of the Chromebook's biggest selling points.
SAMSUNG Chromebook Series 5 550 1.66 GHz, 16 GB SSD | Rated 59% by by c|net (Jun, 2011)Here's the biggest problem with the Chromebook: the hardware's fine, and the simplified Web-based OS is clever, and even versatile if you don't mind its limitations.
cpu
SAMSUNG Chromebook Series 5 550 1.66 GHz, 16 GB SSD | Rated 59% by by c|net (Jun, 2011)The onboard Intel Celeron processor isn't clearly labeled or documented on any of the Chromebook's spec sheets; it's called an "Intel Core" processor in our review documentation.
SAMSUNG Chromebook Series 5 550 1.66 GHz, 16 GB SSD | Rated 59% by by c|net (Jun, 2011)While it's better than the last Series 5 Chromebook's Atom processor, it doesn't fall far from the tree.
