It would have been wise for Samsung to have made the laptop upgradable to at least to 16 gig of ram or more.

PROS:-Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit runs flawlessly on the dual core processor.-Graphics card is excellent and watching YouTube/DVD videos on full screen is smoothe, even with high definition.-It's 3GB RAM is more than enough for normal use.

I would highly recommend this computer, the big pros to me are the speed, the slot-load DVD drive, great screen, like having the number pad on a 15.6" computer.

For almost $800-$900 you can get a superior laptop with better specs (maybe not as pretty), faster CPU, more RAM, bigger faster hard drive (even an SSD) and 17 inch HD screen.

screen resolution

Samsung Series 7 NP700Z5A

The Samsung has a higher resolution screen (perfect resolution in my opinion at 1600x900), although I do prefer the 16:10 ratio the Apple still uses more than the 16:9 ratio that everyone else has gone to.
Series 7 NP700Z5A by Byron-Tedder (Jan, 2012)
It's very bright and sharp (and 1080p)!

Cons: poor choice of broadcom wireless card, signal strength deteriorates rapidly after 10 feet, only single band 2.4 GHz wireless n so the 5.8 GHz band is not available.

Millenium Falcon was the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, which is why I nicknamed this 2.0 ghz with 4 ddr2 cuz its smoking fast, but another name that comes to mind is the Silver Surfer, the finish is amazing on this laptop.

I also upgraded the RAM to utilize 12GB of RAM with an 8GB SODIMM matching same specs as the Samsung SODIMM soldered to the board.

The "max screen" technology they added to the display really helps it stand out among other laptops.

The keys aren't too deep, but deep enough to be satisfying.

the display quality of the screen is great, the Radeon Graphics capabilities on this PC is also a bit unbelievable, because for a discrete GPU its been able to handle most games Ive thrown at it with out any lag whatsoever.
Rated 80% by by Davinci83 (Sep, 2012)
The chiclet-style keyboard is nice, and the speakers are good for a laptop, the battery lasts about 4 hours of continuous, light use, about half that if you're playing games or something more intensive.

It is a nice looking machine with a great display and keyboard.
