I loved the size and weight at first but after some use I was worried that it wouldn't hold up for long.

What I like most is working at night by lighting their keyboards, good processor performs simultaneous downloads fast, I recommend increasing RAM +4 GB.

Compared to other screens I have seen in this size the Z blows the competition out of the water.

The 14'' screen is really amazing and not as small as i imagined.

Operations is quiet, the high-resolution LED-backed screen is superb - but you need to have good eyes, I can imagine others will have a hard time with the super-fine resolution.
VAIO Z Series by CSK (Mar, 2011)
However, it doesn't hold up all too well as a gaming card, as evidenced by a relatively weak score of 23.4 frames per second in Stalker: Call of Pripyat at medium detail and a sub-native 720p resolution – though TrackMania Nations Forever hummed along happily at 83fps on the same settings.

Our $1,999 unit came fully equipped with Intel’s latest 2.4-GHz Core 2 Duo P8600 processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and a 250GB hard drive.

The price was not good because for the price almost 800 dollars you would think it would the most updated intel core processor.

It's just to much chip to allow for cooling, so the dual core i7 is mainstream, but if you look close, this one has a much faster i7 than many.
VAIO Z Series by Mark-J.-Tierney--coastie-1980
It starts the show off with a healthy dual-core Core i5, which runs at 2.3GHz but can manage up to 2.9HGz thanks to Intel's Turbo Boost, and with support for up to four virtual cores (or threads).

Be it videos, photos or games, everything is brought to life with a level of detail unsurpassed even by the excellent screen on the Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch Not satisfied with awesome colour fidelity alone, viewing angles are incredibly wide.

Ah/44Wh. Indeed, the VPCCA1S1E only lasted a minute over three hours in our low-intensity Productivity test with screen brightness at 40 percent and wireless radios turned off, so that's pretty much the longest you can expect to get out of it.

Without it, even tho it's not very thick, this makes the Vaio amazingly thin - almost to the point of it looking like a dept store dummy display.

The SSD is blazingly fast, the machine never gets even slightly warm (despite the fact that I usually run a number of CPU hogs on it), the keyboard is amazingly comfortable (It has a similar chicklet layout to the MBP keyboard), the screen is phenomenal (by contrast, the Thinkpad screen is much too dim).

There are a few negatives, the illuminated keyboard is a nice idea, but could be better (see Logitech keyboards).

The finish is also very nice and unique (Bolt Black) it looks like it has blue accents around the edges in the right light but most of the time it looks kind of like a carbon fiber glossy finish, beautiful computer.

The battery life 7+ hours is EXCELLENT!

Its not the fastest running machine out there but it should be fast enough for the non gamers.
