I think you are correct. Their image as a company is no longer what it used to be. They are quickly turning into the traditional image of a "corporation". Yes I know they are one but I am talking about "corporation" in the context where it is a negative in regard to the underdog niche player that they have been traditionally seen as.

Apple shot themselves in the leg. They have clearly lost idea on the way forward. By resorting to litigation other than innovation to outdo Samsung, it is apparent both their corporate and legal advisers are sleeping on their job. Reports has it that Samsung have increased their galaxy s3 sales since the court ruling. Why?
The court ruling created sympathy for Samsung.
Those who did not know about Samsung are now curious to know more about it.
Many are now rushing for the remaining available s3 stock be4 the ban is effected.
Apple would have come out with something different when they realized Samsung infringed on their patent rights.By opting for Litigation, they have succeeded in making Samsung even more popular. The villain is always the Hero by default.

+1000 I lot of people have really lost faith in Apple. Instead of innovating to stay ahead of the curve they now simply sue others and try to monopolize by the legal system, as they have fallen behind technologically. Android has gone streets ahead of iOS, anyone who has used any of the top Android phones knows this. Apple are likely to disappoint a lot of people with the iPhone 5. After their silliness with this Samsing case I'll never give them another penny. It's only the consumers that are going to lose out of this one.
