Does the galaxy S III support iPhone apps?

sarilisa | Asked  9 months ago | Last response was 7 months ago

I want a smartphone for the following reasons:

- stay connected with friends, share pics, browse net and most importantly, Apps.

I wanted to know if the galaxy phones support apps of sites who have them optimized for the iphone and itouch.

the sites which i wanna download some apps from mostly say "download this app on your iphone"

But i'd rather buy the samsung phone. thnx.

Which phone do you recommend for sarilisa?

Samsung S II - $285
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich |3.5G|4.3"|Dual core 1.2 GHz
Apple iPhone 4S - $356
iOS 6 |3.5G|3.5"|Dual core 0.8 GHz

    Hi,

Unless those websites offer an Android version of their app, you will not be able to use an iPhone app on your Samsung Galaxy III. The Android app market is growing and getting to a point that most major app creators are making apps for both the iPhone and Android.

On the other hand, for browsing the web, if a website has been optimized for an iPhone, this really just means it's been optimized for viewing on mobile devices of a certain size. This means that "iPhone optimized websites" will most likely be optimized for your Samsung Galaxy as well.

    To summarize:

    - Apps: No (unless there is an Android app)

    - Websites: Yes

iPhone apps will not work on any other device except iPhone. Also, if what's important to you is apps, then get the iPhone. It's app store is full of "high quality" apps whereas android has some apps that are spam-filled. The iPhone is also good for social networking (photo sharing, staying connected with friends) since facebook and twitter are directly integrated into the device.

As for web browsing, I recommend the iPhone since the only thing android had an advantage over the iPhone was adobe flash, but that was recently removed from android.
