So far, we've been pleased with the Nexus One's performance.

The display is still fantastic, but will not have the better power usage, low heat emissions, and the extremely high contrast ratio that AMOLED technology provides.

Already made a lot of photos and satisfied with camera quality (it was bought a month ago).

Due to a Wi-Fi bug in Android 2.2 that caused the phone to lose Wi-Fi connectivity when the screen shuts off, I couldn't use the phone as I wanted until I got a software update - so I had to go through the process of rooting it and installing an official 2.2.1 build myself, which is not for the faint of heart.

Screen

Everything from standard text to busy photos and graphics jumped right off the display in full glory.

When you're not using the touch screen, the trackball will be your primary interface tool for accessing menus.

Music quality is decent over the external speaker, but a headset will offer the best experience.

Operating system

This review was about the phone not the OS, so the only two things I will say about the OS is the following.
HTC Nexus One | Rated 100% by by Benavente-Ignacio--Nacho (Aug, 2011)
It's also rebooted itself a few times - not enough to be a problem but enough times to be a concern- makes me wonder if the OS will eventually crash and burn.
HTC Nexus One | Rated 40% by by D.-Erben--David-Lawrence (Jan, 2012)
As an Android phone, the Nexus One has everything you'd expect from the OS.

Battery

battery drains fast, but this is the problem with almost every smart phone today.
HTC Nexus One | Rated 100% by by Manuel (Jul, 2011)
Only Issue I feel is the battery life where it gets discharged very fast and seems heating up when being charged.
HTC Nexus One | Rated 80% by by lawrei (Jul, 2011)
A few hours later, tried using latitude and phone reboots (!!), then another time added a power control widget to the screen and it boots again, with the reboot loop!
