The headphones are very comfortable with great sound quality, but a little base heavy, just a little.

The screen size could be larger overall, but some people will prefer the more petite size.

I chose it over the 900 because I wanted the smaller size and curved screen.

The screen is bright but not very sharp, the camera is middling, its single core processor is slow compared to the dual-core competition and Windows Phone has enough limitations that it doesn't overall stand above any other operating system.
Lumia 800 by TrustedReviews (Feb, 2012)
While Windows Phone is generally a quite nippy operating system that does a good job of hiding any performance deficiencies in a phone's hardware, there's no getting round the fact that this phone is slower than all the dual-core handsets out there, despite its single core running at a sprightly 1.4GHz.

The result is a camera that is about equal to that of all the other 8 megapixel models used on phones such as the iPhone 4S and Samsung Galaxy S2.
Lumia 800 by TrustedReviews (Feb, 2012)
Other 8MP shooters typically drop down to 6MP when shooting 16:9, so a loss of less than a megapixel in widescreen mode is quite an achievement.

When it comes to this phone's performance, the first thing to note is its single core processor.
Lumia 800 by TrustedReviews (Feb, 2012)
The 1.4GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM8255 processor produced speedy internal performance, with fast navigation and app-loading responsiveness, with the exception of Nokia Music.

Microsoft has emphasized quick camera operation with Windows Phone from its start, and the Lumia 800 keeps up that standard beautifully.

This really helps create an impression that the interface just leaps out from the glass panel of the screen, rather than some display behind.

The Carl Zeiss Tessar 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash should give other phones a run for their money, but it falls short.

The screen is bright and beautiful, and the touch screen works really well.

The pictures are not bad, actually, but they are clearly less quality than old my sony dsc 6 megapixels, which I bought in 2005.

Screen

The screen continues to impress outdoors in the sun too - it remains perfectly visible, while the colors keep most of their punch too.
Nokia Lumia 800 | by GSM Arena (Dec, 2011)
We measured the maximum brightness of the Lumia 800's screen to see how it stacks up against other AMOLEDs and the LCDs.
Nokia Lumia 800 | by GSM Arena (Dec, 2011)
They can look a bit blue and produce overly saturated, almost unnatural looking colours as compared to LCDs.
Nokia Lumia 800 | Rated 70% by by TrustedReviews (Feb, 2012)

Camera

The Nokia Lumia 800 has an 8MP camera with a lot to brag about - it has a 28mm wide-angle F2.2 lens by Carl Zeiss and as we already mentioned in the hardware section of this review the sensor behind the lens is quite clever too.
Nokia Lumia 800 | by GSM Arena (Dec, 2011)
With the camera you can make good and fast shots.
Nokia Lumia 800 | Rated 100% by by iNemoXY
This probably has to do with the camera's automatic white balance misreading the scene; whatever the reason, it takes away from the ease of use and reliability of the Lumia 800's camera, which are the two most paramount considerations when you're building imaging equipment for phones.
Nokia Lumia 800 | Rated 78% by by The Verge (Nov, 2011)

Apps

Using it for business is very nice!! The voice commands aren't as sophisticated as Siri, but still works great for my needs.
Nokia Lumia 800 | Rated 100% by by JB-Shopper (Aug, 2012)
The integration between Xbox live games is awesome and the look and feel of the device itself + windows phone is great.
Nokia Lumia 800 | Rated 100% by by Alex (Mar, 2012)
Thankfully gaming performance is good enough to hold a candle to the competition.
Nokia Lumia 800 | Rated 70% by by TrustedReviews (Feb, 2012)

Operating system

It's beautifully made, has great ergonomics, is reasonably nippy in operation, has a slick, capable operating system, and Nokia has brought some interesting extras to the Windows Phone party.
Nokia Lumia 800 | Rated 70% by by TrustedReviews (Feb, 2012)
iOS still wins when I want to browse the web or check out a new app and Android is still the best platform for users of Google services.
Nokia Lumia 800 | Rated 78% by by The Verge (Nov, 2011)
The two parts are welded together, whereas what the world really wanted to see was for them to melt into one spectacular new juggernaut that would do battle with iOS and Android.
Nokia Lumia 800 | Rated 78% by by The Verge (Nov, 2011)

Operating System

I was satisfied with Android but I was not really happy.
Nokia Lumia 800 | Rated 100% by by iNemoXY
The OS still doesn’t do true multitasking; things are being done the iOS way.
Nokia Lumia 800 | by GSM Arena (Dec, 2011)
While closing the gap on Android and iOS, Windows Phone doesn't improve on them in any dramatic way.
