The keyboard is good, too, or at least as good as a keyboard can be on a phone this large.

In effect, the phone is a slightly smaller, much thicker Galaxy S II — a very good phone — with a QWERTY keyboard underneath.

My previous phone was an older Motorola flip phone so this phone felt large to begin with, but after using it for a couple weeks, the bigger screen is worth the extra size.
Captivate Glide by D-Allen (Feb, 2012)
The screen is reasonably sized but I would like this phone even more if it was a bit larger, say 4.5 to 5.0 inches in size.

I was able to get some nice detail when using the flash for an indoor night shot, and other indoor shots taken during the day also produced images with good color fidelity and sharp edges-it's easy for those to be, at turns, oversaturated, dull, or overexposed.
Captivate Glide by c|net (Nov, 2011)
Its screen is also of higher, qHD resolution.

The phone is very snappy because of the dual-core CPU and 1GB RAM.

The Captivate Glide took very good photos with its 8-megapixel camera.
Captivate Glide by c|net (Nov, 2011)
It'd be a good camera, if it weren't so slowThe 8-megapixel camera on the back of the Glide takes decent pictures, but not as good as the other Galaxy S II models, which is a little odd.

Performance Real world tests of Samsung Captivate Glide

cpu speed

It has a very fast processor with no lag.
Captivate Glide by Richard-A-Nolan (Dec, 2012)
The NVIDIA made CPU in the Samsung Captivate Glide is a sharp departure from the usual silicon suspects in the dual-core Samsung devices.

If you're not happy with the battery life, try these larger capacity third party batteries.

There are a few cool features, like a panorama mode and Samsung’s always-awesome tap-to-focus feature, but they can’t make up for unspectacular image quality.

The Captivate Glide has a beautiful 4-inch Super AMOLED display with a WVGA resolution (800x480 pixels) and support for 16 million colors.

There are things I like about this phone-the app selection is infinitely better than BlackBerry, the sound and speaker are good, the screen is crisp, the phone is still pretty slim even with the keyboard, the camera and video are excellent-but I need this phone to help me work, not help me play, and it definitely can't handle that to the extent that I need it to.
Rated 40% by by Emily (Dec, 2012)
The keyboard is a far cry from Blackberry's in terms of ease and comfort of use, but was one of the few nice phones I found with a physical keyboard so was willing to live with it.
Rated 40% by by eels (Feb, 2013)
Pros: The phone is easily navigable, has decent storage, works/loads quickly, and is a good size (fits easily in my hand).

Keyboard

AT&T's portfolio of 4G QWERTY smartphones was looking fairly thin before it added the Samsung Captivate Glide.
Samsung Captivate Glide | Rated 76% by by c|net (Nov, 2011)
The keyboard keys are spaced in such a manner that the keyboard is easy to use.
Samsung Captivate Glide | Rated 100% by by CL (Feb, 2012)
My wife is really happy with this phone, the only one that looks a normal touch smartphone and has the physical keyboard.

Screen

ok i love this phone now what got me with this phone was the space on the keypad love the space on the keypad it love touch screen love the style love that it is not big and wide over all a good phone with a good battery.
Samsung Captivate Glide | Rated 100% by by torry--latorry-boston (Sep, 2012)
It’s a full 13.7mm deep, though, and since the screen’s not huge it feels even thicker.
Samsung Captivate Glide | Rated 66% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)
This phone is amazing, good looking, nice material, very fast processor, not that big like S3.
Samsung Captivate Glide | Rated 100% by by Humberto-Hernandez (Dec, 2012)

Carrier

AT&T makes its code-scanner app ready, along with AT&T FamilyMap and Navigator with turn-by-turn directions (it costs $9.99 for a monthly pass and $2.99 for the day pass).
Samsung Captivate Glide | Rated 76% by by c|net (Nov, 2011)
I got it because it had a keyboard and was compatible with AT&T go phone, although you do need to buy data and have AT&T unlock the phone.

The MyTouch 4G Slide currently sells for the highly acceptable $99.99 on a contract.T-Mobile MyTouch 4G Slide.

Operating system

Plenty of free synching software is available so this is not an issue.
Samsung Captivate Glide | Rated 100% by by John-H.-Eickhoff (Dec, 2011)
If I had known that Samsung no longer distributed software or drivers with the phone, I wouldn't have bought it.
Samsung Captivate Glide | Rated 60% by by MsEE (Aug, 2012)
It also has plenty of appeal for potential OS converts.
Samsung Captivate Glide | by GSM Arena (Dec, 2011)

Camera

The 8-megapixel rear-facing camera has nice features like auto-focus, smile detection, and panorama mode, but there's much more besides, like smile shot, which snaps the photo when it detects a smile, and action shot, which takes a panorama of moving objects.
Samsung Captivate Glide | Rated 76% by by c|net (Nov, 2011)
The camera is great, to the point that I don't take my standalone digital camera anywhere anymore.
Samsung Captivate Glide | Rated 100% by by Ronald (Jun, 2012)
It is good for a quick point and shoot camera but lacks the features of a high end point and shoot camera.

What is the best alternative to a Blackberry?

I love the Qwerty keyboard that comes with my Blackberry, can you recommend a business friendly smartphone that isn't made by RIM?
