We did get a bit of lag when launching certain apps like the browser and the camera, which can get a little annoying when you're in a hurry.

The Samsung Dart is a pretty simple entry-level Android smartphone with enough features to satisfy the Android newbie.
Rated 70% by 9 users at amazon.com
There also isn't a lot of memory on the phone so having a SD card is a must (it comes with one, but if it gets to full, you need to buy a new one or delete things off the old one for the phone to work good).

The reason I chose this phone over others is that I did not want to change my T-Mobile contract.

I've talked to T-Mobile.

Screen

That soon went away, however, and we experienced little delay with navigation because of the capacitive touch screen.

The keyboard itself appears more compact than usual, and requires a touch more precision when typing.
Samsung Dart | Rated 67% by by c|net (Jun, 2011)
However, it's saddled with a small unsatisfactory screen, and we think T-Mobile's LG Optimus T is a slightly better option for the same price.

Type

Beneath the screen are the four Android keys-the menu, Home, back, and Search functions-in the form of touch sensor buttons.

It's an entry-level device that won't wow you with its design or feature set, but it does offer great Android functionality for an unbeatable price.

Mobile's budget Android offerings currently consist of the LG Optimus T and the T-Mobile Comet.

Operating system

Now the family includes the Samsung Dart, an Android 2.2 handset that retails for free after a two-year contract and an online discount.

If you want more apps, you can always get them via the Android Market.
Samsung Dart | Rated 67% by by c|net (Jun, 2011)
Though the Dart ships with Android 2.2, it does employ Samsung's TouchWiz UI to differentiate it from other Android handsets.

Carrier

Thanks to T-Mobile, the Dart can also make calls over Wi-Fi with a special Wi-Fi calling app.
Samsung Dart | Rated 67% by by c|net (Jun, 2011)
The other day I had some trouble with my flip phone and there are very few new ones you can buy so I went to my carrier and what prices on these phones with contracts to boot.

Neither Samsung or T-Mobile will take responsibility for the problem.
