The thing is great when used with an active external amplifier and decent when a pair of headphones is plugged in, which is better than its price tag suggests.

In terms of build quality, there's a certain plasticky feel to it but when some high-end smartphones like Samsung's own Galaxy S II also have a rather lightweight plastic build, the difference isn't glaringly obvious.

The size is great, it's not too big, not too small and the screen is perfect enough.
Galaxy Ace by jlozano (Sep, 2012)
Very good smartphone, is not as big as the SII or the new Note, but it has most of the same features, just in a smaller screen, still very good size.

screen resolution

The resolution is HVGA (340x480), and while the screen isn't (by far) rich in details, paired with the digitizer (I think that's the name of the capacitive input piece) it provides a very nice touch feedback.
Galaxy Ace by David (Jan, 2012)
The photos have an excellent amount of detail, they have very little noise, the exposure and white balance are spot on and the colors look good (with the usual dose of oversaturation).

I'm quite pleased with this cell phone because it has many improvements over version S5830 (ACE), in terms of speed (since it is dual core), ergonomics, screen and graphics, also has more storage memory for applications (rather negative aspect in the ACE version).
Galaxy Ace by Camilo (Apr, 2013)
It is really fast (dual core) and the available memory is good.

As ever, the Orange San Francisco makes for a compelling alternative thanks to its larger, higher resolution screen, but the Ace has a nicer design, faster processor and better camera.

Features on the Galaxy S 4G include a 5-megapixel camera, a second front-facing camera, a 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, and support for T-Mobile's 4G network.

Never mind the higher clock speed, Qualcomm processors aren't famous for wide video codec support.

Granted, if you do any graphics/CPU intensive - which is basically any game on this phone - it will drain fast.

browser benchmark

Samsung Galaxy Ace
Regardless, it’s still readable and panning and zooming are fast so the Galaxy Ace scores a good mark in web browsing.
Galaxy Ace by GSM Arena (Feb, 2011)
It's not a superb browser by the latest standards, with pretty rudimentary use of tabs and so-so speed, but it'll do the job for most.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace screen is bright enough with vivid colors (for an LCD unit) and has decent viewing angles and okayish sunlight legibility.

You won't find a big AMOLED display here, but instead a small 3.65-inch (320x480-pixel resolution) LCD screen.

PLS is Samsung's take on IPS, the screen technology used in the iPhone 4S and HTC One X. Viewing angles are excellent, with just some loss of brightness when tilted to extremes in particular directions.

After TWO WEEKS of use I have to say that the battery ONLY LASTS ONE DAY, so be ready to keep the battery charger with you and to install ah application called Screen Filter to DIM the display more than Android allows you to, also disable GPS,WI-FI, data transmission in the background and any automatic synchronization.

Email support (via Gmail and Email apps) is excellent with support for Exchange out of the box and social media buffs will be pleased with the level of integration of that content as well.

I resent having to pay for apps - ie iphone, ipad - they nickle and dime you for apps!

Type

The Samsung Galaxy Ace has good features for its price: a decent 3.5” HVGA screen, 800MHz processor, pleasing 5 megapixel camera, good build and, of course, Android 2.2 Froyo.

Android is still that little bit more complicated than iOS but you soon get the hang of it.

Me sorprendió gratamente el hecho de que aunque en las especifiaciones del producto dice que trae Android 2.2 realmente vino con Android 2.3.6 y anda muuuuy rápido.

W is the camera clarity less and pictures appear blur and dark?

Though it's a 8MP camera with HD recording facility, the pictures are blur and appears to be dark and least quality. pics taken from less standard symbian mobiles are more good.
