The G2 offers both the Android keyboard and Swype, but you also have a four-row QWERTY keyboard at your disposal, and it's quite a good one.

The screen is a good size, not the portable theater size of some others but I'm happy with it.

The ergonomics are not very good given the small screen, but it is still nice to have.

The touch screen is big enough to type that way, and the skype feature, though it took a week or so to get used to it, has been fantastic.

I was worried about the 800 mhz processor, especially with 1 Ghz and dual core's coming out over the next few months, but I can't imagine seeing a noticeable benefit.

With the phone's processor speed and 2.2 (Froyo) on board, playing games, web surfing, and video watching are quick and smooth.

It's not quite as vivid as the Super AMOLED displays that grace Samsung's Galaxy S phones, but it's still gorgeous and bright.

Hotspot/Tethering: This is a great feature which I feel every phone should have.

I'm not exactly feeling any love for HTC's build quality right now.

Screen

I've never been a fan of typing on a touchscreen, and while typing on the G2's touchscreen is just as good as most other phones out there and Swype is a nice alternative, the keyboard is where the G2 really shines.
T-Mobile G2 | Rated 100% by by A.-Henley (Dec, 2010)
Putting a screen protector on it only makes the screen duller, but overall it's still good.
T-Mobile G2 | Rated 100% by by A.-Henley (Dec, 2010)
The colors are very nice and balanced with good viewing angles.

Keyboard

The swype keyboard is fantastic, and I find myself using the swype keyboard a lot more than I ever used the on screen keyboard of the G1.
T-Mobile G2 | Rated 100% by by TW (Dec, 2010)
The keyboard on this thing i second to none, HTC really knows how to make a great phone keyboard.
T-Mobile G2 | Rated 100% by by dBenjammin (Jan, 2011)
+ Phone has a solid construction (except for the keyboard hinge - see below) and fits pockets comfortably.

Operating System

DropBox and Evernote on android are fantastic and were the reasons that got me to consider the move to android.
T-Mobile G2 | Rated 100% by by RPB-ATL--RPB
The best thing about this phone is, that it's ever evolving with Android.

Battery life is very much user-dependent.
T-Mobile G2 | Rated 100% by by J.-M.-Jaco (Mar, 2011)

Carrier

In hand, the T-Mobile G2 has a very high-quality feel to it.
T-Mobile G2 | Rated 83% by by c|net (Oct, 2010)
The T-Mobile G1 wasn't much of a stunner in the looks department, and though we wouldn't necessarily classify the T-Mobile G2 as sexy, the smartphone's design is a huge improvement over its predecessor.
T-Mobile G2 | Rated 83% by by c|net (Oct, 2010)
The T-Mobile G2 is quite a feature-packed smartphone, but one aspect that sets it apart from the rest of the pack is the fact that it's T-Mobile's first HSPA+ smartphone.
