The images produced by the 5-megapixel sensor are average for a phone — color reproduction is reasonably accurate if occasionally a little blue, and when you’re shooting a still object you’re likely to be pleased with the results.

It's wonderfully sharp and detailed and produces pretty good colours, though it can't quite match the saturation and contrast of AMOLED displays.

While I'd prefer a slightly larger display, for its size the Defy+ doesn't do a bad job.

Now, a year on, the Defy is back with a faster processor and… well, that's it actually.

If this phone was 4g with a dual core processor and a front facing camera, I'd give it 5 stars without hesitating.

Although modest in terms of specs, the 5 megapixel camera actually takes quite a nice shot, getting exposure and colouration right, even if every detail isn't captured.

0.8 GHz
A year later, and Motorola has released the Defy+ — a phone that on the outside looks remarkably similar to the original, down to the capacitive buttons, locking back, and camera, with an upgrade to Android 2.3 and a slight processor bump as the only notable spec increases.
DEFY+ by The Verge (Feb, 2012)
This phone has an 800MHz processor (same speed as the original Droid) and rarely lags, hangs up, or freezes on me.

What would be a really neat addition to a subsequent model would be a similar touch charging mechanism to that seen on the HTC Rhyme, thus saving you having to remove the sealing flap from the microUSB port every time you want to charge it.

Our tests reveal a talk time of 8 hours and 18 minutes.

Jump into the main apps menu and thankfully Motorola hasn't mucked about with the layout – you just get a nice alphabetical list of apps to scroll through.

The radio option gives you access to the FM radio (for which you'll need some headphones to act as the aerial) and Shoutcast internet radio, which works very well if you can find a decent station!

The construction feels really good and the phone is really waterproof, It fell in the water the first day I used it..... Installing all the apps goes easy, but I guess it works the same on all Androids.

Phone is nice smaller than what i thought it would be considering the durability aspects that it has.

I don't use the phone to chat my life story away, to play games, for business, to be distracted with email/IM/texting (unless it's an emergency), and reserve my Interent use only when it is needed.
