I presume this is because the One X Plus has a quad core processor (the One X had a dual core) which is more of a battery hog.

I've used my S3 for a week now, and it works great in all functions, as a phone, and as internet instrument, via wi-fi and 3G.

screen resolution

Samsung Galaxy S III
HTC One X+
The first chart shows better sharpness over the S II - it's especially noticeable in the small numbers below the color patches.
Galaxy S III by GSM Arena (Oct, 2012)
Not only is it really sharp (at about 312 ppi, it's virtually impossible to distinguish individual pixels), but also has great contrast and nicely saturated colors.

Not sure there are that much parallelism to exploit or whether the parallelism is handled well for four cores in most common apps.

After all, the outdated assumption that the more megapixels you have the better simply isn't true (and here's why).
Galaxy S III by c|net (Jun, 2012)
Tew/CNET). Above the screen sits a sharper 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera; the older One X uses a 1.3-megapixel shooter for video chats and vanity shots.

Samsung seems to have done quite well here as the speed increase goes further than the 16% or so CPU frequency advantage that the Galaxy S III has over its predecessor.

The big 4.7-inch screen is bright and provides a good view.

I really loved this phone, but the overall slowness of 3G speeds and lack of 4G LTE in my area, made me switch to the older Samsung Galaxy S2.

Samsung SIII received, but I'm not satisfied with the product quality is not enough, the material is quite simple, I do not recommend.

It's super fast, the UI is very fluid and responsive, and it's light with a large, well-lit screen.

The latest Android OSes are a clear improvement on iOS and HTC Sense is built with the same care and taste as the hardware.

The One X+ features Jelly Bean out of the box, which is an awesome OS, and it is the main reason I switch to Android from iOS.

It is a superb piece of design, the most beautiful realisation of the genius vision pioneered by Steve Jobs not so many years ago.

storage

That said, I think the handsomely styled $199.99 HTC One X+ more than makes up for this with its ridiculously vast 64GB of internal storage.
HTC One X+ | Rated 80% by by c|net (Dec, 2012)
Additionally, as I stated before, HTC packed a whopping 64GB of internal memory into the One X.

That said, HTC tries to alleviate the storage issue by outfitting the One X+ with a staggering 64GB of internal memory.

internal

The internal storage will come in three capacities - 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
Samsung Galaxy S III Dual core - 16GB - North American Edition | by GSM Arena (May, 2012)
With the 64GB of internal storage negating the Galaxy S III advantage of featuring a microSD slot, the Samsung flagship finds itself in a significantly weaker position this time.
HTC One X+ | by GSM Arena (Nov, 2012)
This new model boasts robust quad-core processing courtesy of an Nvidia Tegra 3 chip, plus it has a massive 64GB of internal storage, enough for users to perhaps overlook its lack of an SD card slot.
HTC One X+ | Rated 80% by by c|net (Dec, 2012)

format

Even if you factor in the price of a 64GB microSD card (which would bring the S III available storage to 80GB), the Samsung smartphone is still slightly more affordable.
HTC One X+ | by GSM Arena (Nov, 2012)

cores

Overall, I still recommend this phone, definitely better hardware settings (everyone talks about that, large built-in 64GB storage, good cameras, more faster cores, etc, so I don't repeat) and better quality/price ratio, at least compared to iphone5 and galaxy s3 (not lumia 920, lol).
HTC One X+ | Rated 20% by by Blair

video

Unless your music and movie collection is truly of gargantuan proportions, this phone has your mobile media needs covered and then some, especially compared with the typical 16GB most handsets offer.
