It'll focus in on subjects around 10cm away in good lighting conditions, but the level of detail captured is not hugely impressive, with clear signs of heavy processing visible when zoomed-in to pixel level.

It’s certainly the most powerful, thanks to a 1.5GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, a 4.7-inch 720p display, an 8-megapixel camera with some aggressive specs, and 32GB of storage.

Not because it features more megapixels – it's still an 8-megapixel model – but because it has a host of other improvements and a superfast continuous shooting mode.

As far as video is concerned, the Galaxy Nexus can capture great 720p and 1080p recordings, though the quality suffers from the same issues as the still camera.

This screen flirts with perfectionThe One X's display is, without a hint of hyperbole, the best I've ever seen on a phone.

Now, Google has made it front and center, one of your three camera "mode" choices, in addition to the standard camera and video.

It gets very bright, brighter in fact than the HTC One S' qHD AMOLED screen, and has viewing angles that are nice and wide.

Love this camera as it is, and I used to do photography as a sideline with a "Real Camera.

Order a good screen protector when you order the phone and don't take off the retail packaging screen film until you are ready to put on the screen protector.

I'm not sure if it's worse than HTC One X's and Galaxy S III's screens but I think it was the best before these came out.

type

The One X (not on Verizon) and the Galaxy S III are the new Android superphones, but if the Galaxy Nexus running stock Android has these kinds of issues, who's to say the newer superphones won't have them as well?
Samsung Galaxy Nexus review | Rated 40% by by N.-S.-Spears--spearofsolomon (May, 2012)

performance

The HTC One X and S are faster in benchmarks, but that doesn't make a phone better.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus review | Rated 100% by by D.-Harry (Apr, 2012)

camera

That's not to say the camera is awful, it certainly is not and it certainly is capable of taking some good shots, it's just not as good as the iPhone 4/4S, the Samsung Galaxy S2, or the HTC One X. The camera does have a very fast shutter, so taking multiple shots is very easy and you do not have to wait for the camera to be able to shoot again.
