the new Nexus 10.1, Nexus 7, Ipad mini or galaxy note 10.1

If you are looking for a budget tablet, with great features and strong battery life than the Nexus 10, or Nexus 7 (depending on the size you are looking for) is for you.

I would recommend a Nexus 7 or a Nexus 10, depending on what size screen you want. I would not recommend the iPad mini because of it's lower resolution screen, slower processor, and expensive price.

This is just a personal preference, but I prefer the look and feel of the iPad mini, along with iOS.  I also prefer the abundance of QUALITY applications on iOS since most of the applications on Google Play aren't really that good. (I own 3 android smartphones)

However the iPad mini is not in the same category as the other tablets you mentioned so I will recommend tablets based on their sub-categories below.

Full-sized tablets:

1. NEXUS 10

2. iPad (2nd gen and up)

3. Samsung NOTE 10.1

mini tablets:

1. iPad mini

2. NEXUS 7

If you want android though, the NEXUS line is in no way a bad tablet at all, and the  NEXUS line of tablets, as of now, have better specs than the iPad line of tablets.

This is my best tablet . this is my choice 

The size of the nexus 7 is  small enough to take around wherever you go but big enough to watch movies and browse the web. It has a nice look and feel. It is the cheapest of them all. But maybe you could consider the iPad mini for its size but iOS is not that customizable like you wanted. With the nexus 7 you could probably get through the day. That's probably the tablet I would consider and I think you should get it as well
