Which device is easier to use? Will the kobo download all ebooks

Shonagh-Eastwell | Asked  6 months ago | Last response was this month

I have an iPad but want something smaller( not an iPad mini) to read on and play but smaller in size than iPad. I can't decide between an arc or finale fire HD. I'm looking at 16gb model

Which tablet do you recommend for Shonagh-Eastwell?

Amazon Fire HD
8.9"|32 GB|WiFi 3G|Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
Kobo Arc - $256
7"|64 GB|WiFi|Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

The Kindle Fire HD would be better for you, but keep this in mind, the AMAZON Fire HD is in the same category as the iPad since it almost has the same screen size as the iPad. (8.9" vs. 9.7"). I'm pretty sure that you just accidentally chose the bigger sized Kindle Fire HD over the 7" version of the Fire HD, so yes, choose the Kindle Fire HD.

However, I recommend you take a look at the NEXUS 7 as it is a NEXUS, meaning it was made in conjunction with Google and will always get firmware updates first.

this month Nick-Ford recommends the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0

I just picked the Note 8.0 up and I'm blown away. Now before everyone hops on about it being the same thing as the note and inferior to other tablets, I've tried many others. My mom has an iPad, my brother the Kobo Arc, my Dad the Nexus 7 and each have certain strengths and certain weaknesses. So far I can't pick out any weaknesses with the Note. Since I picked it up (around two weeks ago now) I've charged it once, using it almost every night and its now at 58% battery. I'm astonished. Another plus is the screen, it's absolutely crisp, 1080p with a great resolution. Android 4.2 is nice as well, being that it's smoother than many other Android tablets. It has a great feel to it as well, solid yet light, easy to hold and there are no seems on the edges (where gunk likes to build up). Then there's the S-Pen. I had played with my buddy's Note (the phone) and wasn't too pleased with it. But after playing with it on my tablet (not sure if they changed it or what) I'm quite impressed. It's light and comfortable, easy to use, pressure sensitive and quick. It's nice to write with or even draw. And the fact that Samsung didn't make it dependent on it is also nice, being that it makes certain tasks easier and easily slips away for others. All in all, it blows many other tablets out of the water and is certainly worth looking into.

Kobo is 7" + has 64 GB for books. If you can afford a Kobo it's better. Amazon kindle  Fire 16 GB may be smaller.

Amazing, cheap, android tablet. Nice size, can fit in your palm. Kobo runs amazingly on it, I use it all the time on mine.

Do not buy the Fire HD, you cannot download all the Android apps you want.

8.9" is not significantly smaller than the 9.7" of your iPad..

In Amazon, there ecosystem sucks, there are lot of advertisements, the downer is just they dont have access but what i really find a smart move is X-ray.
