The size and weight are just what I needed, but the screen is large and bright enough for me to read emails, show videos and photos to my colleagues, and read books on the Kindle.
Galaxy Tab 7.0 by R.-Seigel (Nov, 2011)
The screen size is right where I want it; big enough to comfortably view websites and small enough to carry around the house and on the go.

Screen resolution: the galaxy tab is much better, it has more ppi( pixels per inch) than iPad 2.
Galaxy Tab 7.0 by c-joy--book-lover--dual-android-apple-user (Mar, 2012)
In addition, the screen resolution is incredible at 1280 X 800 vs. 1024 X 600 for the better 7" tablets.

My kids and I video chatted with my father via Skype with the front camera, and it worked great.
Galaxy Tab 7.0 by DarthSyrma (Feb, 2012)
Images and video recorded with the front camera looked as if there were a deliberate film grain placed over it, and not in a cool, artsy kind of way, but more of the, "Hey, there seems to be some film grain on this video, can we please get rid of it?

Other than that it is a great, dual-core CPU, portable tablet.

Performance Real world tests of Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0

cpu speed

Both tablets use the Exynos 4210 CPU, which in terms of speed hits somewhere between the Tegra 2 and Tegra 3 chips.
Galaxy Tab 7.0 by c|net (Nov, 2011)
**UPDATE: 1/17/2012 - Speed definitely varies and has different factors like ISP, router, wifi chipset, CPU specs, OS etc..

Galaxy Tab 7.0 by Keith-V (Nov, 2011)
No real complaints as far as power performance goes, as long as I've got a stable internet connection, the browser is fine.

PROS: size and weight, picture quality, fast processor, battery life, good-looking design, bluetoothCONS: expensive, if you have a spotty WIFI connection it really limits the use of the tablet, lack of integrated USB/HDMI (you can buy an adapter for this - about $30).
Galaxy Tab 7.0 by Natalie
It appears very well made and the touch screen is responsive with a display that is bright, yet adjustable to save battery life as needed.

Overall I'm very happy with the Galaxy Tab, it satisfied all of my tablet needs and I would recommend this device to anyone who's looking for a decent low priced android tablet.

It's easy to use (perfect, since you don't get a users manual, though you can download it from Samsung), visually appealing and fast.

Screen

The screen delivers sharp text and menus, but the brightness is surprisingly low and doesn't hold up well under sunlight.

But if you haven't owned a device with an amoled screen, you would give this tab's screen 5 stars because it's really good compared to other tablet screens i've seen in Bestbuy.

It displays full web pages (in landscape), and text is very easily resized by pinching then tapping for almost all web sites (and most text based apps).

Type

The resolution is still the usual 1,280x800 pixels most other Android tablets use, but text and color are much clearer and sharper.

Social hub: the galaxy tab wins here, not sure if iPad 2 has something similar in iOS 5, I still have to upgrade to iOS 5!

[11/6] I'm still happy with battery life, but I will say watching Netflix looks like it would only last about 4-5 hours.
