After owning devices with resistive touchscreens and capacitive touchscreens, I prefer the greater accuracy of a resistive screen with a stylus.

My son purchased this item for his girlfriend, I was a little concerned, usually Coby has been low end electronics but this tablet is very well made, good looking and does what an android powered tablet should, It has a large screen with clear, vivid HD video, wireless network was a snap to set up, and being an android operating system, it's functions look just like their smartphone system so it's very easy to use, the camera takes very clear photos and video.

Initially I couldn't even get started because I wasn't pressing hard enough...screen size isn't bad, performance isn't bad, but just cant get over the resistive screen.

I would have purchased a screen protector if I knew the screen was so easy to scratch.

The camera is lower quality than one of those $10 toy cameras you buy for kids.

The camera is really clear, and comes with an app already installed for the camera.

I recommend the Coby models with a 1 Ghz processor for speed, processing power.

Internal memory is sufficient, but you can add a microsd card if you need more storage capacity.

I like the exterior build quality as well: the tablet looks nice, and the controls all worked well.

It take a little getting used to a stylus but all in all it is easy to navigate the screen.

Wifi

Installing the Android Market is fairly easy and deploying a Keep Wi-Fi Widget will keep your Wi-Fi stable.
Coby Kyros 8" | Rated 100% by by tomaiine (Feb, 2012)
It took us about an hour to get the Wifi working, I basically had to do a hard reset of the unit in order for the Wifi error message to go away and show available wireless networks.
Coby Kyros 8" | Rated 40% by by E.-Frazier (Dec, 2011)
2 - I noticed in settings that by either turning off the wifi or turning on the airplane mode and then trying to re-activate the wifi the device would display an error and not be able to connect anymore.

Battery

When I checked the battery usage, I saw over 80% of the battery use was for "cell standby.
Coby Kyros 8" | Rated 40% by by Edward-Freeland (Jan, 2012)
Battery life is good now that I've used it a few days and gotten it nicely topped off overnight.

Sounds like a wonderful scam to me and I can't wait until they charge me for stuff I've not purchased... yay.
Coby Kyros 8" | Rated 20% by by S.-Mann (Dec, 2011)

Touch

The screen is very low rez, the touch sensitivity is poor but it all fits the price tag.
Coby Kyros 8" | Rated 20% by by will (Dec, 2011)
The touch screen works great for most functions I have come across so far; not nearly as much choppiness/drag as some of the other reviews have mentioned.
Coby Kyros 8" | Rated 80% by by Rob-K. (Apr, 2012)
The resistive touchscreen has a texture that is not terribly pleasant on the fingertips, but it works as well as a capacitive screen with fingertips, and is far more precise than a capacitive screen when used with a stylus.
