It is simple to use, there are ample apps, the browser is responsive, the display is dynamic and the size perfect.
Kindle Fire by G.-Robert (Dec, 2011)
The screen is easy to see, very vivid, plenty large enough, and the digital keyboard is large enough.

I know at this price it shouldn't need a Retina-level display, but Retina sure is nice, and this isn't even close.
Kindle Fire by David (May, 2012)
Great Product, Good Colour Screen with Good Resolution, No Eye Strain from reading ebooksYoutube Movies look great.

Although the Fire is a top notch gadget in terms of build quality and even sports a dual core processor under the hood I unfortunately feel robbed in terms of accessing Android market apps.
Kindle Fire by Pete (Jan, 2012)
The touchscreen is super easy to use and the processor is obviously a dual core given all the "multitasking" you can do with this.

cpu speed

I have heard some people complaining about processor speed, but I just don't see it with what I use it for.
Kindle Fire by J.-B-Kraft--lonestargazer (Nov, 2011)
A faster processor would speed web browsing up considerably.
Kindle Fire by Cory-C (Dec, 2011)

sunspider 0.9.1 benchmark

Amazon Kindle Fire
Toys”R”Us Kurio
In the browser, the Fire returned a SunSpider result of 2541.9ms — not too shabby, but compared to the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus's score of 1634ms, it seems a little sluggish.
Kindle Fire by The Verge (Nov, 2011)
The speed of the browser is fast, downloads very fast.

battery life

7.5 hour
4.7 hour
10 hour
The size is perfect, the price is perfect, the interface is something different and quite attractive and intuitive to use and it's responsive (enough for me at least) and the battery lasts for a good 7 hours or more depending on what I'm doing.
Kindle Fire by Jwilly (Dec, 2011)
The battery life seems to be around 6-7 hours which will be enough to charge once a day.

The software on the Kindle Fire HD may well be the product's Achilles Heel, while the services the software provides are clearly its winning edge.

Their music store is absolutely on par with iTunes in terms of selection, and their prices are cheaper in most cases.

The size sounded perfect (it is - I don't like the full size iPad2, but an iPod Touch is a little small) and let's face it, you can't beat the price of the Kindle Fire.

Their product is light, fast and feels nice to the touch.

My husband surprised me with this for Christmas and I've been delighted with it ever since (it's especially nice when you have a Prime account).

Apps

Email, news, shopping, games, videos, reading, the KF is an all around good devise for the casual User.

Screen

The interface is seamless and though it it a touch heavier than the other Kindle devices, it is still much lighter than many books you may have.
Amazon Kindle Fire | Rated 100% by by Arron-Umberger--Arron (Jan, 2012)
My husband is having a hard time learning just how to touch it to make it work, but he loves it also.

Touch

I have an Ipod Touch (that I love) and my husband wanted something similar, but larger.
Amazon Kindle Fire | Rated 100% by by mochapie (Dec, 2011)
Many times I thought the touch didn't register so I touch again and it takes me back multiple pages.
Amazon Kindle Fire | Rated 40% by by J.-Marder (Mar, 2012)
shopping is very easy, though i can see why others are concerned with how easy the 1 touch shopping can be.
Amazon Kindle Fire | Rated 80% by by O.-McConville (Mar, 2012)

Battery

It's a tablet, not an e-Reader really, but the e-reading interface is slick enough (and the amazon-store easy and full enough) that you can definitely read your books on it for hours without eye strain.
Amazon Kindle Fire | Rated 80% by by Dan-Larsen (Feb, 2012)
The battery life is awesome for me and I use it constantly.
Amazon Kindle Fire | Rated 80% by by Joe-R (Jan, 2012)
The only downside is charge and use time I wish it didn't need to charge so much.
Amazon Kindle Fire | Rated 100% by by Elizabeth (Mar, 2012)

Games

Overall I'd recommend it for watching videos/movies, playing music, light browsing, and great for app games.
Amazon Kindle Fire | Rated 80% by by Gabe-Berg
If you've got $200 to spare, want a device to browse the web, read ebooks, watch a Netflix movie, or play games on (there are some good ones in the app store), you can't go wrong.
Amazon Kindle Fire | Rated 80% by by James-M.-White--James
I have plenty of free games and learning books for my kids, and me and email, news etc, all of the nifty things a tablet can do.
