I agree that because applications are similar and they both share the same iOS, the experience might not seem that different, but once you get your hands on it, the bigger screen, the dual core processor, larger memory and longer battery result in much much better overall experience.

In the iPad's case, I feel they did the opposite: they oversold it's abilities, touting dual-core ships, 9x better graphics etc., when in fact none of that really matters at the only pace the interface allows.

Wifi

It's a great e-reader for airplane travel, even really long flights, though you can't use it on take-off and landing of course.Wi-Fi performance is flawless and the range is excellent.

You are at the mercy of the wi-fi gods, hoping to find free wi-fi spots, and paying to use hotel wi-fi unless you're lucky and they comp it.

Watching movies and surfing the web over WiFi is a joy, especially compared to the iPhone 4 which I have and love, but the limited browsing capabilities of the iPhone is enough to make you want for something larger.

Music

The iTunes store provides music, movies, and books for sale, but I prefer supplying my own music and movies, and Amazon's Kindle app / Kindle books is much more flexible and a better way to buy books in my opinion.

Common uses are videos, web browsing, email, internet radio and some games, no music stored, because most of my audio files are lossless, the battery lasts 2 to 3 days, not really a heavy use, But still ok.

The interface on iTunes is way too frustrating-every single time I checked a box with iTunes, it automatically unchecks itself within two seconds later.
