Of course, what really sets the Slider apart is the fact that you can slide the display upwards by lifting a small latch behind the top of the panel to reveal its physical keyboard.

I love this tablet - they keyboard is awesome and my large hands adapted very quickly to using it, although I will see the on-screen keyboard is not as difficult to use as I thought it would be.
Eee Pad Slider by R.-Shim--R.-Shim (Jan, 2012)
The keyboard is small but very functional and includes several specialty keys to manipulate the screen, etc..

Like the Transformer, the Slider’s 10.1-inch, 1280 x 800-resolution IPS display is very high quality and quite impressive for the price.

No need to go into all its great features and details, I just wanted to try and save you a bit of trouble if you decide to pull the trigger.

The front-facing 1.2-megapixel shooter is what you’d expect — you’re not going to want to take your new Facebook Timeline shot with this, but it is fine for video chatting or checking your teeth for food.

It's this notion that convinces us, even more so than usual, that the 5-megapixel camera on the back is mostly redundant.

+ Very fast... dual core processor is great, and 8 core graphics chip is amazing.

A dual-core 1GHz processor should be able to handle 720p video with relative ease.

Performance Real world tests of Asus Eee Pad Slider

cpu speed

Although it uses the same Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor as the majority of Honeycomb tablets, it's unusually smooth and lag-free.
Eee Pad Slider by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)
For the most part, performance is on par with the other dual-core Honeycomb tablets, meaning the internals are peppy enough to push along the OS and a number of applications.

As for battery life, it took me aproximatly 6 hours to run it down to around 30%, with what I would consider normal usage for myself (wifi web browsing, running apps, etc.).

Okay, all of that is based on playing with this thing for a couple of hours so far and it's a big 2 thumbs up for simplicity of use, impressiveness of design and value compared to other tablets.

The user-facing 1.3-megapixel camera is much more useful, letting you use Android video chat apps and Photobooth-style fun apps.

As I mentioned before the sliding mechanism feels quite solid — the metal sheet that props up the back of the screen and the spring feels very taut — and there’s no wobble to the screen once it’s in keyboard mode.

I liked the performance of the Transformer, so I preordered the Slider and have had it since Fall 2011.

As an "original" owner (I preordered the tablet before its release) I can say that this tablet is durable, easy to use and is loaded with features.

I did install a different browser to give me a desktop browsing experience because the stock Honeycomb browser was giving me the mobile sites.

Screen

Comparing fairly well to the standards set by Apple's original iPad back in 2010, it uses an IPS display that offers fantastic viewing angles and excellent overall performance.

The screen IS a fingerprint magnet and so I have applied a screen protector to cut down on the issue and to protect my investment.

The flip up motion for the screen, I'm not entirely sure how a lot of the video reviewers have difficulty flipping up the screen, it's really easy and really cool at the same time.

Type

+ Android operating system, just the best out there for a tablet, great little thumb controls on the browser - you have to turn this feature on, but once you do your browser window becomes full screen, just slide your thumb in from the edge of the screen and this really cool touch interface pops up.

Android Honeycomb's browser is good, the tablet supports full Adobe Flash, the capacitive touchscreen is very responsive and the keyboard comes in handy when typing emails and web addresses.

Battery

The battery life is very good, lots better than my laptop which I've had for 3+ years now.
Asus Eee Pad Slider 16 GB, Mocha | Rated 80% by by luvcrash (Jul, 2012)
I took away one star (should be 1 1/2 really) because of the very delicate sliding mechanism that is not made for kids' hands, and the rather disappointing battery life.
Asus Eee Pad Slider 16 GB, Mocha | Rated 80% by by Trailman (Jan, 2012)

Operating system

It’s more than capable at multitasking, though I have to say I wish Honeycomb handled navigation between multiple programs better.

It's one thing to load a device up with vendor-specific software (this is normal) but then to deny any request to remove said software is unacceptable.

Other than all that, you’re looking at the familiar Honeycomb experience, and as I mentioned above, the keyboard plays quite well with the operating system, morphing the device into more of a workhorse than most of the tablets out there.

apart from the slight problem with its weight, I am finding this a great alternative to ipad, in fact suits me much better, and have found it intuative and impressive.

As far as the device itself goes is amazing!! User friendly, not to heavy despite the key board and works exactly as advertised.
