Android 3.2 Honeycomb

Considering it’s the world’s first tablet to squeeze in a quad-core ARM processor, it’s even more impressive.

I love the screen size and how thin it feels.
Eee Pad Transformer Prime by Edulyric (Mar, 2012)
The screen is neither too small that you can't read some websites or pdf's (like B&N's Nook at times) nor too big that the unit is cumbersome to hold.

Camera, 8mp back and front camera is good enough for face time.-Was able to playback 1080p videos pretty smoothly.

The front camera works well for quick Skype sessions.

This machine is not really a quad core... IT'S A FIVE C0RE!! Four performance cores and companion core which takes care of a lot of the system overhead.
Eee Pad Transformer Prime by Alan-McGaughey (Jan, 2012)
The speed of the tablet is unreal (Tegra 3 - 4/5 cores).

Performance Real world tests of Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

cpu speed

My wife has an iPad 2 that she also got recently, and while I am impressed by both devices, the Prime has won me over with its insane processor speed and beautiful display.
Eee Pad Transformer Prime by romy (Dec, 2011)
IT would be nice that you could choose which programs or apps should be given the priority setting of using the highest processor speed.

the tablet is blazingly fast regardless of what it's doing and i recently installed the chrome beta to use instead of dolphin/stock that i had been alternating between before and i noticed huge speed increases over what i already thought was rather fast load times from the.
Eee Pad Transformer Prime by Mike (Feb, 2012)
Web browsing is very fast, but no better than my Samsung.

Tegra 3 makes screen transitions are a LOT smoother, gaming performance is better, battery life is improved, the screen is brighter, and its all tucked into a BEAUTIFUL, durable, premium design.
Eee Pad Transformer Prime by Mckinley-Bruckner--mick3444 (Dec, 2011)
* The charger charges quickly but it is unique to Asus and no iPad chargers (2.1A) will charge the transformer faster than a trickle rate.

Asus may have produced a brilliant piece of engineering at a price that's competitive with the iPad, but Android hasn't yet matched iOS when it comes to unlocking all that potential.

Dark detailing is good (if not quite perfect) and blacks are deep, all without compromising the brilliantly bright whites.

While the Prime's IPS screen was immediately clear and sharp when first we powered it on, it was the screen transitions that really impressed us.

One concern is some of the applications I use, are still not updated to ICS tablet screens, so they stretch to fit the screen.

With the dock, this tablet makes a very nice travel laptop replacement with amazing battery life.
Rated 100% by by E.-Danilenko (Mar, 2012)
The specs did not deliver on all levels because android still has issues it needs to refine and Asus dropped the ball on the design which caused wifi and gps issues.

Screen

Other then that, I can say the quality of the screen was good, images were sharp, it was just a very short time to enjoy it.

At first, I thought this couldn't do as much as my XP laptop but the more I use the Prime the more I see it is truly better, easier, more versatile and the screen is fantastic.

Operating System

From my experience with Android tablets, this is as far as I know the best tablet in the Android tablet category.

It's an amazing piece of hardware, I like the Android OS, and the docking station sounds like a great idea (haven't had the docking station in my hands).
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Champange | Rated 60% by by J.-Abercrombie--Scott-in-Calgary (Jan, 2012)
With its retina-searing 600nits brightness this is also one of the few tablets that’s actually usable in sunlight, and regardless of the kind of content you’re consuming, Asus’ latest Android effort makes it all look vibrant and almost three-dimensional.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Champange | Rated 100% by by TrustedReviews (Jun, 2012)

Operating system

It can even be used as a netbook or laptop replacement if you’re happy with its limitations, and dare we say should run Windows 8 beautifully when that OS comes out, expanding its flexibility further.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Champange | Rated 100% by by TrustedReviews (Jun, 2012)
I was pleasantly surprised with the performance and how far along the Adroid OS had come along!
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Champange | Rated 100% by by RV-Driver (May, 2012)
I also didn’t notice much of a difference when it came to multitasking — it didn’t have a problem running multiple apps, but I didn’t notice a speed increase between the Prime and the original Transformer under heavy loads.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Champange | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)

Apps

I cannot be happier with how games, email, and note-taking are so easy for my husband to do on this tablet.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Champange | Rated 100% by by ValtheRed (Jul, 2012)
Aside from that, I really am enamored by this visually stunning, gaming powerhouse!
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Champange | Rated 80% by by yawansumame (Jul, 2012)
I use my phone (a lot) for business, but texts, calls, conference calls, GPS and camera are all I need and want in a phone, and my (non)smart phone does all those things better than most smart phones AND the battery lasts 10X longer than a smart phone.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Champange | Rated 100% by by Scott (May, 2012)

Wifi

Bad wifi connectivity, after I charged the tablet as instructed in the manual, I turned on the tablet and it couldn't connect to wifi, it kept saying turning wifi on but it never did, I had to search for the reset to factory settings options to reset the tablet, after that it did connect, which is not supposed to happen, I shouldn't need to reset a brand new tablet for the wifi to work.

With the Wi-Fi Xoom and no-contract G-Slate asking for $600 and $750, respectively, the Transformer is a great lower-price alternative.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Champange | Rated 73% by by c|net (Apr, 2011)
There is also the hardware issues with WiFi and GPS, the GPS is a non-issue for me since I always have my phone with me, but the WiFi performance for me has just been OK but not great.
