This is a great intro tab and obviously isn't a vizio or galaxy s tab but video is crystal clear and screen responds well with touch or stylus.

Android 2.3 Gingerbread

It's MUCH better than other tablets in it's price range for the picture and sound quality, but it could be a little better with it's responsiveness to touch.

The tablet does have a resistive display, which, along with some other considerations resulted in my exchanging it for its big brother, the 8127.
Kyros 7" by J.-Williams--Jim-Williams (Dec, 2011)
It is nice and compact, has a nice weight to it and the icons on the screen are large and easy to use.

The front camera should be a little better because portable video calls are a benefit to tablets over laptops, but again good enough considering the price.
Kyros 7" by J.-Thompson (Dec, 2011)
The downside: you can't put it on standby, you have to turn it off or the battery will die, this means u have to wait 45 seconds each time you want to use it and this is the biggest issue; the plastic around it is pretty cheap, so put it in a case after u buy it; the camera is .3 megapixel.

Coby finally is going to get it totally right~ They will offer Android 4.0, Dual Core Processor, 1GB of Ram, and a far larger internal flash memory.
Kyros 7" by M.-Gehret--G-Man-Colorado
The clarity is superb and the load times are decent enough when keeping in mind the 800mhz processor.

Performance Real world tests of Coby Kyros 7"

cpu speed

The quality is very good it's a solid unit No rattles if you shake it the buttons seem pretty sturdy, the speed was also impressive its not on the same level as say a core duo but it would give the best celeron processors a run for its money, fast streaming youtube videos.
Kyros 7" by Robert-M (Jun, 2012)
Not satisfied with that, I also rooted the device using SuperOneClick v2.3.3 (might require pressing the reset button on the back), and installed CPU Tuner from the market, and got about another 10% speed boost by setting it to Simple.

The included gallery app isn't so great, I recommend that you find a good app on Amazon to play your videos and music.

The Android build for this tablet is designed for a smartphone which prevents you from installing tablet-specific apps, although most smartphone apps (Pandora Radio) work just fine.

The only way to reliably get apps is to open your browser, go to google or other search, "amazon android app" or something similar to get the amazon market.

Screen

My daughter loves it took a little time to get used to it she plays on my ipod touch all the time so this took some getting used to but now all is good.

Battery

It has no GPS, no 3G, no Bluetooth, and battery life is somewhat limited.
Coby Kyros 7" MID7127 | Rated 100% by by T.-Poe
And this from a girl who has already broken an MP3 player and the LCD screen on her digital camera...Battery life is adequate, and she only has to charge it 1-2 times each week - about 4-6 hours of heavy app use (Angry Birds, YouTube, etc.) between charges.

Some have complained about the battery, but I am finding the battery is better than the one on my phone, and the one on my wife's I Phone.

Operating system

It has the type of touchscreen I wanted for use with my fingers vs a stylus, it has the OS and OS version I wanted, and it was big enough for my needs but still keeping the small price of less than $150 with shipping included.
Coby Kyros 7" MID7127 | Rated 100% by by Dub715 (Jan, 2012)
On the model that we have the android market does not work and I do not want to test out unlocking it and perhaps hurting the system.
Coby Kyros 7" MID7127 | Rated 80% by by casimone (Aug, 2012)
In addition, after a few days I noticed the performance began to decline and the OS crashed on numerous occasions.
