Like the Touch Cover, it functions as a screen protector, but unlike the Touch Cover, it has a full complement of great-feeling, tactile keys.

The Touch Cover feels excellent on the device from a screen protection standpoint, and it feels good when you wrap it over the back of the device (as you'd fold back a magazine or book).

The high def screen is gorgeous although it is a little small for work (the Surface PRO 2 is rumored to be one inch bigger).

Another important advantage of Surface over iPad is that watching most of the videos is better because of the 16:9 screen size ratio.

The screen resolution is amazing, I think better than the iPad which is also excellent resolution.

It's not retina quality for the DPI so the text suffers compared to my retina iPad, but that's really not much of an issue for me since this isn't going to be used for my primary ebook reader.

Contrast on the Surface’s screen is pretty good, with a lot of dark detail visible without compromising whites too much - here the Microsoft tab outperforms most rivals including the iPad.

Internet Explorer in the new UI is a terrific browser that displayed pages quickly, and made navigating even complex websites easy.

The 10.6-inch display is small, especially for a full Windows laptop, but it's crisp and bright and has a full 1,920x1,080-pixel resolution.

Both the Pro and RT have several very important strengths: Beautiful sturdy build, great form factor, USB port, microSD slot, SkyDrive, Win 8 a great OS for tablets.

The other example is you can see how things lag quickly when you write a full page with Atom Processor, but you won't see that with Core i5 processor.

Touch: It is rather precise with the finger with 10 point touch capability It works quite well.

Screen

As a personal tablet computer with power, a top of the line display/touchscreen, and a small footprint, it is unmatched.

The touch is snappy with the "Metro" interface (I know, they don't call it that anymore but it's still a good way to reference that touch interface).

The colors and blacks on the 10.6-inch screen do look stunning, but all the technology in the world can't make up for pixels that aren't there.

Bluestacks will also allow you to access all Android applications on your Windows devices, it is in BETA and works perfectly well but not flawlessly.

Apps

For those who like to game, the Pro isn't a gaming device, but it can sure play games if you like.

Their music store is supported by Xbox-music (no iTunes) and the device runs fluently with the new media player, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and all other Microsoft products.

Operating system

After some searching I found a app called BlueStack that emulates Android on the fancy new Windows Surface, WOW, now we can work and play and everyone is happy, the best of all worlds Android and Windows in a Very Sleek and Sexy Tablet, can hook up a DVD Player to it, a Mouse, Load QuickBooks, or any software made for Windows, has a USB port, SD Slot, NOW runs Android Software i.e. games, until MS catches up (If they Can).

More importantly, the advantages Windows RT brings to the table aren’t exclusive to Microsoft’s Surface tablet, and with some ‘full-fat’ Windows 8 tablets offering a similar feature set at around the same price, we can’t say that Surface is blowing us away.

Bold move on their part, but there is a reason Apple split their consumer OS (and products) from their enterprise/production OS.

Touch

I was concerned about the size, but the easy scaling by touch makes it wonderfully easy to use.

What about the Fujitsu Q702 with Windows 8?

In this comparasion the Fujitsu is at a disadvantage because it is the Windows 7 Professional OS and not the Windows 8.
