While the Prime's IPS screen was immediately clear and sharp when first we powered it on, it was the screen transitions that really impressed us.

This tablet is a must have, 32gb is plenty of space for those who don't cram much into their machines and with the slim and lightweight design it is a thing of beauty.

Dark detailing is good (if not quite perfect) and blacks are deep, all without compromising the brilliantly bright whites.

I love the screen size and how thin it feels.
Eee Pad Transformer Prime by Edulyric (Mar, 2012)
The screen is neither too small that you can't read some websites or pdf's (like B&N's Nook at times) nor too big that the unit is cumbersome to hold.

This machine is not really a quad core... IT'S A FIVE C0RE!! Four performance cores and companion core which takes care of a lot of the system overhead.

It is here that the performance and those extra cores really shine.

My wife has an iPad 2 that she also got recently, and while I am impressed by both devices, the Prime has won me over with its insane processor speed and beautiful display.

IT would be nice that you could choose which programs or apps should be given the priority setting of using the highest processor speed.

the tablet is blazingly fast regardless of what it's doing and i recently installed the chrome beta to use instead of dolphin/stock that i had been alternating between before and i noticed huge speed increases over what i already thought was rather fast load times from the.

* The charger charges quickly but it is unique to Asus and no iPad chargers (2.1A) will charge the transformer faster than a trickle rate.

It can even be used as a netbook or laptop replacement if you’re happy with its limitations, and dare we say should run Windows 8 beautifully when that OS comes out, expanding its flexibility further.

Asus may have produced a brilliant piece of engineering at a price that's competitive with the iPad, but Android hasn't yet matched iOS when it comes to unlocking all that potential.

Asus gave the F2.4-aperture lens, back-illuminated sensor some significant attention, and, well, the Prime now has the best camera of any tablet on the market.

Asus also adds a Super IPS+ (In-Plane Switching) mode, which boosts the tablet's screen brightness, making reading in sunlight a bit easier.

The 8-megapixel rear camera provides the Prime with what is, on paper, the most technically advanced camera we've seen on a tablet.

After reading all the hype about the quad core cpu, awesome speed, and how this is the best tablet to hit the markets, I've had to return mine today.

Speed: I would have thought with a quad core CPU that the device would be fast.

It's an amazing piece of hardware, I like the Android OS, and the docking station sounds like a great idea (haven't had the docking station in my hands).

Gaming has been very smooth, on Riptide, Shine Runners and Glowball I'm genuinely impressed with the graphics.

size

The Prime’s new keyboard dock is thinner than the original’s (.4 inches thick versus .5), but the experience remains relatively unchanged.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 64 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)
Measuring 0.31 inches thick and weighing just 1.29 pounds, the Prime is now one of the thinnest tablets on the market.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 64 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)
As the chart above indicates, the size and weight difference between the Prime and the iPad 2 is minimal, and that’s exactly how I’d describe holding one in each hand; I really couldn’t feel a difference.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 64 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)

brightness

Asus maintains that the screen brightness is the culprit here, and I tend to agree with them — 65 percent brightness on the Prime is higher than on the original Transformer and most other tablets.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 64 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)
I am currently rerunning all these tests with the dock attached to give you an idea how much time you'd get with the extra cell, but I think it's pretty clear: the Prime is capable of running for over nine hours on a charge (even longer with the dock attached) with the screen being plenty bright, you just have to be mindful of what you are actually doing with the tablet and the power saving modes.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 64 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)

operating system

I also didn’t notice much of a difference when it came to multitasking — it didn’t have a problem running multiple apps, but I didn’t notice a speed increase between the Prime and the original Transformer under heavy loads.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 64 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)
This review will be updated when Ice Cream Sandwich is released for the Prime; however, while I do think the new operating system will fix a lot of Honeycomb’s issues, including some of the fit and finish aspects that were mentioned in the Galaxy Nexus review, I don’t anticipate it fixing one of the main problems I continue to have with Honeycomb: app selection.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 64 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)

type

Asus has been very vocal about the forthcoming Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Transformer Prime, which doesn’t exactly bode well for the Honeycomb Android 3.2 software that the tablet currently runs.

camera

The Prime’s quad-core processor might be getting all the brand-new-spec attention, but don’t let the 8-megapixel line pass you by.
