Whether it's a simple round of Scrabble or an intense romp through Grand Theft Auto 3, the iPad's combination of Retina Display and quad-core graphics processor add up to a dramatic improvement for gaming.

Not only is the 7" more affordable than the full size tablets, its the perfect fit for your hand and the screen is more than big enough.
Nexus 7 by Shaun-Russell (Jan, 2013)
The big screen makes it fun to take pictures or videos as I recently did at the National Air and Space Museum.

I am very happy with my Apple iPad and its amazing Retina display but there are times that I do not want to carry a heaver 10inch tablet around and so I waited for the arrival of Apple's iPad Mini.

This a Great product, the retina display is simple great, much more stable because of the memory and the graphics in games are much better.

The front camera is 1.2 megapixels, and the quality of it puts the one on my Apple devices to shame (I'm only talking about the front camera, the back camera on the iPad is far superior to this one).

I'm really disappointed Apple didn't improve the front camera.

The things I like about the Nexus 7 are the speed, I absolutley love having the quad core speed.
Nexus 7 by Batmanfan2 (Jan, 2013)
Featuring an Apple designed Dual-core A5X, low power, high performance processor, the 1.44 pound (1.46 pounds for the Wi-Fi + 4G) iPad 3 is a tad thinner than the iPad 2, though the screen size stays the same.

Another nice perk is that if you buy into the Verizon version, not only do you get your LTE service on the iPad, but you also can use the device as a wireless hotspot at no extra charge (AT&T says they're working on it, but they don't offer the same luxury).

This sort of weight makes it possible to use comfortably one-handed, but if you're used to the feather-light body of a Kindle, it will feel a little heavy.

It’s now a 5 megapixel, backside-illuminated affair with a five element f/2.4 lens and autofocus, and it can shoot stabilized 1080p video at 30fps.

General OS performance was excellent — helped undoubtedly by Android 4.1 and its "Project Butter" initiative which is said to vastly improve touch response and smoothness in Android.

The new iPad is also equipped with a greatly improved camera on its back (a 5 megapixel shooter, not unlike the one featured on the iPhone 4), new 4G LTE options (for both Verizon and AT&T), and a considerably more powerful processor.

The quad-core Tegra 3 inside the Nexus 7 is the same 1.3GHz chip we've seen in most recent Android tablets, including the 12-core GPU.

As Apple advertises, if you look closely at, say, someone with a white shirt in a photo on the iPad 2 you can actually see the display pixels, which obviously limits the sharpness of the photo.

This is a major flaw because I would love to see the life of these getting points and an easily changeable screen.

If I attempt to sync the apps using itunes, then itunes will attempt to sync ALL apps that I have purchased, including apps for the iphone that are not meant to work on the ipad, which results in the sync canceling itself and only about 3 apps being installed.

To work, the two compatible devices have to touch back to back, and in the case of the Nexus 7 the device must touch the upper-right corner of the tablet's back to work.

The Nexus 7's screen looks great and feels responsive; the tablet feels well-built and does a good job of demonstrating its power in games and movie performance.

There are some very good experiences to be had on the Nexus 7 — and frankly, even the un-tweaked Twitter app looks pretty passable on the 7-inch display — but this is still a problem Google needs to tackle if it’s going to truly combat competitors in the space.

Inside the Nexus 7 you’ll find a quad-core Tegra 3 CPU clocked to 1.15GHz on four cores (or 1.3 GHz when running on just one), 1GB of RAM, and 8GB or 16GB of onboard storage (that extra storage will cost you an additional $50).
