3 days after X-mas, I dropped my brand new iPod 4G on a stone-tile floor (about 3-4 feet up) and it shattered (Apple replaced it free of charge :D), yet I'd still give the iPod 4G a 4.5/5 in durability.

We are happy we decided to go with the IPad-it is easily transported-works everywhere we go with 3G or Wi-Fi-and can actually fit in my purse when not in use.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 by Bob-Tobias--Robert-Tobias
The size is one of the best thing about the Ipad, it's neither too big nor too small and the screen is big, bright and clear and there's just so much you can do.

The sky isn't as vivid a blue as the real thing, and zooming-in on these shots shows they don't offer enough detail to print out at a decent size.
Galaxy Tab 10.1 by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)
Fact of the matter is Apple displays are nice, and set a good benchmark, however they have been surpassed by newer technologies and better resolutions on many fronts.

The camera on the iPad is less than the phone, the resolution is less than the phone...and it's $500 for the basic version?

The front camera can also be used for (VGA) video recording of up to 30 frames per second with audio, as well as still camera pictures.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Apple iPad 2
The tablet includes the Nvidia Tegra 2 Dual Core processor and navigating feels just as zippy here as it did on any previous Honeycomb tablet.
Galaxy Tab 10.1 by c|net (Aug, 2011)
I agree that because applications are similar and they both share the same iOS, the experience might not seem that different, but once you get your hands on it, the bigger screen, the dual core processor, larger memory and longer battery result in much much better overall experience.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 by Bako---Bako (Jun, 2011)
The processor on the iPad 2 features the Dual-Core A5 chip, whereas the original only has the A5 chip, but upon consistent use, the speed appears to be about the same.

Taking another page from the iPad 2's school of sexy tablet building, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 has one of the cleanest designs we've seen in a tablet.

Editors' note (October 23, 2012): While Apple now sells a fourth-generation iPad with a faster A6X processor and a Lightning connector and a smaller 7.9-inch iPad Mini, the 16GB iPad 2 reviewed here remains on the market ($399 for the Wi-Fi version, $529 for the AT&T 3G or Verizon 3G version).

so far I like it not that fast but good enough nice colors on screen I wish they wouldhave put a better instruction manual with it.

Much better then iPad if you leave the currently available apps out of the picture(in particular Netflix), I presume as far as the apps are concerned it's only a matter of time before android tablet apps catch up with iPad tablet apps in terms of numbers.

All in all, I rate the iPad 2 an A. If you want to save some money, buy the iPad 2 instead of the new iPad, but if it's your starting model and you don't care about the price, go with the.

* Part of the reason the iPad is perfect for travel is that you can use it in any position, unlike a laptop, where you have to find a seat.

apps

I have the 16GB white, Wifi+3g I use it for books, movies, games, news, banking, YouTube, surfing, location specific services, meetings, presentations, notes, comics, baby entertainment etc.The real estate is just right, extremely portable, the user interface design is very intuitive and simple, the apps are outstanding.

One sticking point in the original iPad that Apple hasn't addressed in the iPad 2 is Adobe Flash support for Apple's Safari Web browser.

Operating System

But I will mention that the user interface for the Android (all customization, notifications, superior e-mail, and widgets aside) was much more appealing than the Ipad 2.
