Don't expect a quad core to be amazingly faster than a dual core, but it can handle concurrent tasks with aplomb.

I'm beginning to think it's probably easier to build a thin, 10.1-inch tablet than it is a 7-inch one that's equally as thin.

But if you hate lag, you'll love a quad core because there's just about always enough processor for whatever the device is doing.

You will not be producing large scale on art on this small tablet screen, but for the doodler/artist it's good enough.

If you're debating between this and an iPad, I think this is a clear winner unless you have a specific need for the iPad's breathtaking Retina display.

Images and video recorded with the front camera looked as if there were a deliberate film grain placed over it, and not in a cool, artsy kind of way, but more of the, "Hey, there seems to be some film grain on this video, can we please get rid of it?
Galaxy Tab 7.7 by c|net (Nov, 2011)
The front camera won't wow you with its quality, but at 1.9 megapixels, it won't distract you either as long as you're not planning to do more than some videoconferencing on it.

Inside, there's a 1.4GHz dual core CPU running the show.
Galaxy Tab 7.7 by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)
you could do it, but for having a quad-core processor, the keyboard doesn't respond very quickly and i have had lots of accuracy issues with it.

Performance Real world tests of Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 vs Note 10.1

cpu speed

Both tablets use the Exynos 4210 CPU, which in terms of speed hits somewhere between the Tegra 2 and Tegra 3 chips.
Galaxy Tab 7.7 by c|net (Nov, 2011)
Almost a year ago I bought the Lenovo Thinkpad tablet and while the hardware was very good quality, the software was the let down, also the tegra 2 cpu just couldnt handle the HD mkv movies.

battery life

10 hour
8 hour
The former is a much more understandable decision given the tablet's size but the latter is agrrevating as it means you always need that cable and that cable only to charge this device.
Galaxy Tab 7.7 by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)
This tablet has a good solid, quality feel, excellent battery life and I find the stylus very helpful during those times when I keep fat fingering things.

It's not as fast as the iPad, but still quite good (and still better than my home Wi-Fi at points).

It has solid viewing angles and brighter colors than the Nexus 7 display, but at 1280 x 800, it’s nowhere close to matching the resolution or clarity of the new iPad’s Retina Display or even other similarly-priced Android tablets, which are starting to feature 1080p displays.
