Back view of Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7
The 3.2-megapixel camera on the back isn't particularly high-res, but does all right, and the 2-megapixel front-facing shooter is actually better than its equivalent on most tablets.

The size is one of the best thing about the Ipad, it's neither too big nor too small and the screen is big, bright and clear and there's just so much you can do.

It's not just another screen size.
Galaxy Tab 7.7 by The Verge (Mar, 2012)
The screen is great for reading in dark and well lighted areas and the text unless very small is easy to read.

Images and video recorded with the front camera looked as if there were a deliberate film grain placed over it, and not in a cool, artsy kind of way, but more of the, "Hey, there seems to be some film grain on this video, can we please get rid of it?
Galaxy Tab 7.7 by c|net (Nov, 2011)
The front camera can also be used for (VGA) video recording of up to 30 frames per second with audio, as well as still camera pictures.

Inside, there's a 1.4GHz dual core CPU running the show.
Galaxy Tab 7.7 by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)
I agree that because applications are similar and they both share the same iOS, the experience might not seem that different, but once you get your hands on it, the bigger screen, the dual core processor, larger memory and longer battery result in much much better overall experience.

Performance Real world tests of Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 vs Apple iPad 2

cpu speed

Both tablets use the Exynos 4210 CPU, which in terms of speed hits somewhere between the Tegra 2 and Tegra 3 chips.
Galaxy Tab 7.7 by c|net (Nov, 2011)
Speed: the iPad is super quick with its A5 processor, running apps like a charm and browsing the Internet sometimes faster than my laptop.

battery life

10 hour
10 hour
The former is a much more understandable decision given the tablet's size but the latter is agrrevating as it means you always need that cable and that cable only to charge this device.
Galaxy Tab 7.7 by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)
The iPad's device features, such as Bluetooth 2.1 (A2DP, EDR), Wi-Fi 802.11 n, 3G, and 10 hours of battery life, are all here, and in many cases are still the bar by which other tablets are judged.

Editors' note (October 23, 2012): While Apple now sells a fourth-generation iPad with a faster A6X processor and a Lightning connector and a smaller 7.9-inch iPad Mini, the 16GB iPad 2 reviewed here remains on the market ($399 for the Wi-Fi version, $529 for the AT&T 3G or Verizon 3G version).

weight

Samsung claims the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is the slimmest and lightest Android tablet going and with official figures of 7.89mm thick and 335g in weight (nearly half an iPad 2), we have little reason to disbelieve the company.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 16GB | by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)

resolution

Loads of settings are placed along the left side of the screen, so changing white balance or resolution is only a tap or two away.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 16GB | Rated 74% by by The Verge (Mar, 2012)

durability

The iPad 2 probably still has the crown for outright class thanks to the solid feel of its metal build but it's a close run thing.
