Despite the slightly smaller screen, this tablet still has WXGA 1280x800 resolution like most other 10.1" tablets, which is nice.

Indeed, the Transformer easily matches the best of the competition where battery life is concerned.

I realize the size of the screen is middle of the road at 9.4" but, at 1280x800 it presents a nice sharp experience that you really have to see to appreciate.

If you compare it to an Ipad II you will find that it beats it in many categories especially ergonomics, display resolution and has 1GB RAM instead of 512mb.

It's better than the front camera, but honestly, who would use a tablet to take pictures?
Tablet S by MPV--Teraforce88 (Oct, 2012)
Camera, 8mp back and front camera is good enough for face time.-Was able to playback 1080p videos pretty smoothly.

Sony Tablet S
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime
There are familiar specifications such as the dual core 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, micro USB and choice of WiFi/WiFi 3G and 16GB/32GB sizes, but everything else raises an eyebrow.

This machine is not really a quad core... IT'S A FIVE C0RE!! Four performance cores and companion core which takes care of a lot of the system overhead.

For camera enthusiasts Sony has called on its camera prowess too and the 5MP shooter on the Tablet S is the best we've experience on a tablet to date.

Dark detailing is good (if not quite perfect) and blacks are deep, all without compromising the brilliantly bright whites.

Just know this: neither of these cameras are excellent shooters, and neither will replace a real camera or decent smartphone option — mostly due to the size of the device and awkwardness in use.

Asus may have produced a brilliant piece of engineering at a price that's competitive with the iPad, but Android hasn't yet matched iOS when it comes to unlocking all that potential.

In that same spirit of borrowing from its best technology to make a compelling tablet, Sony has borrowed the Exmor image technology from its digital cameras to make a tablet camera that's actually worth a damn.

While the Prime's IPS screen was immediately clear and sharp when first we powered it on, it was the screen transitions that really impressed us.

The front VGA Camera: Sony should have put at least 1.3-2MP camera in the front.

I don't expect it to have dramatically better performance than other top Android tablets.

After reading all the hype about the quad core cpu, awesome speed, and how this is the best tablet to hit the markets, I've had to return mine today.

Speed: I would have thought with a quad core CPU that the device would be fast.

I cannot be happier with how games, email, and note-taking are so easy for my husband to do on this tablet.

screen

Overall the Sony Tablet S is good for its price especially when it comes to the screen size.
Sony Tablet S 16GB | Rated 80% by by Mohsin-Shabbir (Oct, 2012)
I can't believe I just typed this review with sony tablet s whereas I had to fumble with the asus prime's insane keyboard and thick skulled touch screen you have to sometimes punch.
Sony Tablet S 16GB | Rated 80% by by H---H--H (Feb, 2012)
Asus maintains that the screen brightness is the culprit here, and I tend to agree with them — 65 percent brightness on the Prime is higher than on the original Transformer and most other tablets.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)

camera

But today, there was a software updated that added Macros functionality to the Sony Tablet S. So if you love this Tablet, it just got better!
Sony Tablet S 16GB | Rated 100% by by GhostFaceReviewer
My whole review is about how you don't need macros because the new Xperia comes with macros and originally, the Sony Tablet S did not.
Sony Tablet S 16GB | Rated 100% by by GhostFaceReviewer
Asus gave the F2.4-aperture lens, back-illuminated sensor some significant attention, and, well, the Prime now has the best camera of any tablet on the market.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)

thickness

The Prime’s new keyboard dock is thinner than the original’s (.4 inches thick versus .5), but the experience remains relatively unchanged.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)
Measuring 0.31 inches thick and weighing just 1.29 pounds, the Prime is now one of the thinnest tablets on the market.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)
The Sony Tablet S (previously known as the Sony S1) is Sony's long awaited first Android tablet and its primary defining feature is to snub its nose at the aesthetically pleasing but impractical race to be thinnest.
Sony Tablet S 16GB | Rated 80% by by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)

size

As the chart above indicates, the size and weight difference between the Prime and the iPad 2 is minimal, and that’s exactly how I’d describe holding one in each hand; I really couldn’t feel a difference.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)
I also didn’t notice much of a difference when it came to multitasking — it didn’t have a problem running multiple apps, but I didn’t notice a speed increase between the Prime and the original Transformer under heavy loads.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32 GB, Amethyst Gray | Rated 82% by by The Verge (Dec, 2011)

format

This is better than the Sony Tablet S because that tablet only allowed the transferring of files on the microSD Card, you can't view anything on it.
