9.4

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Front view of Sony Tablet S
Connectivity options feel different largely for the sake of it and Sony still can't resist dipping into proprietary ports, but the practical wedge styling should attract a loyal following – especially as it carries no weight penalty.

I realize the size of the screen is middle of the road at 9.4" but, at 1280x800 it presents a nice sharp experience that you really have to see to appreciate.

Here's why:1 - No IPS screen on the A200 makes a big difference when compared to an IPS screen.

Despite the slightly smaller screen, this tablet still has WXGA 1280x800 resolution like most other 10.1" tablets, which is nice.
Tablet S by MPV--Teraforce88 (Oct, 2012)
Resolution is better than my retinas apparently, as I haven't noticed any pixelation.

It's better than the front camera, but honestly, who would use a tablet to take pictures?

The front camera is decent.

processor

Sony Tablet S
Acer Iconia Tab A200
There are familiar specifications such as the dual core 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, micro USB and choice of WiFi/WiFi 3G and 16GB/32GB sizes, but everything else raises an eyebrow.
Tablet S by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)
Sure it isn't Tegra 3 quad-core, but consider the following: not many games really take advantage of quad-core processing yet and a dual-core Nvidia GPU is pretty much gonna run like 97% of any app flawlessly anyway.

In that same spirit of borrowing from its best technology to make a compelling tablet, Sony has borrowed the Exmor image technology from its digital cameras to make a tablet camera that's actually worth a damn.

The front VGA Camera: Sony should have put at least 1.3-2MP camera in the front.

I could go on and on: battery life great; Android ICS amazing with seamless coordination of contacts and calendar from my Android phone; movies and music very impressive; recognized and connects to my desktop with little effort (I hate iTunes)... Needless to say I highly recommend the Iconia Tab A200.

Then there is the good old I-Pad 2 which I did take the time to test and it is a nice piece of hardware with a good screen.
