Priced at $530 with 16GB of storage, or $600 for 32GB, Toshiba evidently feels that its tablet's iPad-besting thickness and weight deserve a slightly higher price than the competition.

The 8 megapixel rear camera is a decent performer, but don't expect photos and videos to be as crisp as ones from a DSLR or a point and shoot.

Features Key features of the Toshiba Excite 10 LE compared to the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF300

10.1

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Default view of Toshiba Excite 10 LE
It's bright and accurate, viewing angles are excellent, with virtually no discoloration even far off-axis, and while you can definitely make out individual pixels and see some jaggies on small text, it's not enough to be a huge problem unless you're really looking for it.

The specs of the machine are the best around right now, the quad core is bullet fast.

At 7.7mm, it really is impressively thin, slimmer than any tablet we've seen regardless of screen size.
Excite 10 LE by The Verge (Mar, 2012)
Coming back to the Asus, What makes it a really good tablet.... It has a really good screen too, I feel it's more than enough for a display of this size.

screen resolution

Toshiba Excite 10 LE
Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF300
For a device that sells on the strength of its premium design, it's a detail that should have been taken care of.
Excite 10 LE by c|net (Mar, 2012)
It's not a super high resolution display, so the individual pixels are pretty good sized, and this was pretty noticeable.

Neither of them is particularly great, and several people we handed the tablet to mistook the front camera (circled in chrome) for a home button.
Excite 10 LE by c|net (Mar, 2012)
The front camera has less pixels and isn't as great, but is perfect for video calls and gets the job done.

processor

Toshiba Excite 10 LE
Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF300
All the rumors were that it would be quad core.
Excite 10 LE by jjmcwill (May, 2012)
I have used Ipads and frankly the addition of the keyboard, quad core and ease of memory expansion puts the ASUS ahead.

Performance Real world tests of Toshiba Excite 10 LE vs Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF300

cpu speed

The Excite is geared toward a more average tablet buyer, and while its spec list isn't exactly standard-setting, it's solid: a TI OMAP 4430 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 1280 x 800, 10.1-inch display.
Excite 10 LE by The Verge (Mar, 2012)
The tablet has very good clarity and excellent speed thanks to the Tegra 3 processor.

Being mainly an iOS user I was very skeptical going into Android (with all the bugs, lag and other stuff I've heard about), but this tab doesn't have any issues at all!
