Default view of Toshiba Excite 10 LE

10.1

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

It's bright and accurate, viewing angles are excellent, with virtually no discoloration even far off-axis, and while you can definitely make out individual pixels and see some jaggies on small text, it's not enough to be a huge problem unless you're really looking for it.

screen size

It delivers similar specs, and yes, while it has 3 inches lopped off the display size, it has $200 chopped off the price, too.
Excite 13 by c|net (Jun, 2012)
At 7.7mm, it really is impressively thin, slimmer than any tablet we've seen regardless of screen size.

The front-facing camera leaps the competition by offering all of two megapixels of resolution, but I can't say I noticed the difference — I could still check my teeth or video chat, but that's about it.
Excite 13 by The Verge (Jun, 2012)
Neither of them is particularly great, and several people we handed the tablet to mistook the front camera (circled in chrome) for a home button.

Nvidia loves to talk about its 4-plus-1 core system in the Tegra 3, which makes the processor able to use very little power except for when it's called upon to do some heavy lifting.
Excite 13 by The Verge (Jun, 2012)
All the rumors were that it would be quad core.

As far as I'm concerned, there's no excuse at this point to ship a Honeycomb tablet, but that's what you get with the Excite 10 LE.

The Toshiba audio enhancements did make audio sound noticeably less muffled, but just as on the Excite 10, Ambient Noise Equalizer didn't seem to do very much.

Given the Excite's price and the context of other 10-inch Android tablets on the market or on the horizon, Toshiba's tablet isn't offering the best value.
