#2 in Thinnest bezel LG TVs
Released January, 2010
Rated 80% by by c|net (Sep, 2010)It was tough to choose depth-of-black winner among those four, even in our side-by-side comparison, to the extent that any difference is more likely because of nuances of calibration than panel performance.

LED-backlit
Rated 80% by by c|net (Sep, 2010)There are also specific gamma settings (1.9, 2.2, and 2.4) in the excellent 10-point IRE system available in the Expert menu, as well as a second THX picture preset; now you can choose from THX Cinema or THX Bright Room, although neither is user-adjustable without inputting a special code.

LX9500 by John-ScottI think it may be the first 480hz refresh rate set out - at least at this screen size.
LX9500 by Joch--JonGreat Pics qualities with 3D, so many ways adjust pics & audio qualities, it is great for watch sports & games.
thickness
LX9500 by c|net (Sep, 2010)LG's standard clicker is a long, thin (thoroughly unmagical) wand with decent button differentiation and friendly, rubberized keys.
LX9500 by c|net (Sep, 2010)In numerous mostly dark shots, such as the flyover of the nighttime cityscape in Chapter 2, the depth of black and near-black areas was deeper and more realistic than on either of the Samsungs and the Vizio, and every bit as inky as what we saw on the LE8500, the HX909, and the other two plasmas.
Performance Real world tests of LG LX9500
power consumption
LX9500 by c|net (Sep, 2010)The usual streaming suspects are onboard the LG, but the selection lags behind that of other TV makers.
LX9500 by John (May, 2011)I don't care about 3D but I read that the demanding technology required for 3D sets yields superior 2D performance.

Panel
LG LX9500 47" | Rated 80% by by c|net (Sep, 2010)Unfortunately, LG seems to have rushed with the 3D portion of the LX9500, saddling it with a washed-out picture that's as lackluster as the 2D one is punchy, and no way to adjust it.
LG LX9500 47" | Rated 100% by by Mathew-G.-Lorenceau--The-last-Ronin (Jan, 2011)I hooked up my PS3 and played AVATAR bluray and I was blown away (can't wait for the 3D version).
3d
LG LX9500 47" | Rated 100% by by John-ScottI wasn't really in the market for a 3D set but I bought this for the great 2D picture.
LG LX9500 47" | Rated 80% by by c|net (Sep, 2010)Unless you really want 3D or love the LX9500's thin frame, however, the less-expensive LE8500 is the better choice.
LG LX9500 47" | Rated 100% by by Mathew-G.-Lorenceau--The-last-Ronin (Jan, 2011)I just purchased the LG 47LX9500 and it is amazing, I have yet to see the 3D, but I did get a glimpse out in Europe with a video game and it was amazing.... So I can't wait to see how it looks.
Picture quality
LG LX9500 47" | Rated 80% by by c|net (Sep, 2010)Both sizes have identical specs and according to the manufacturer should provide very similar picture quality.
Content
LG LX9500 47" | Rated 100% by by Mathew-G.-Lorenceau--The-last-Ronin (Jan, 2011)I also hooked up my XBOX 360 and it is more than I could ever imagine.
LG LX9500 47" | Rated 80% by by c|net (Sep, 2010)It was most obvious when we called up menus, whether from our PS3 or from the disc itself, that appeared amid black areas and brightened the surround slightly.
LG LX9500 47" | Rated 100% by by John-ScottI have not purchased 3D glasses (yet) as I don't have any content (yet).
Video
LG LX9500 47" | Rated 80% by by c|net (Sep, 2010)Our calibration, as usual for LG, took good advantage of the Expert Modes' many settings, and it provided a big improvement.
LG LX9500 47" | Rated 100% by by Nathaniel (Nov, 2011)The item itself is mainly developed for video display, one minor issue is the single speaker on the rear of the TV it provides limited sound.
LG LX9500 47" | Rated 80% by by c|net (Sep, 2010)As with the LE8500 we reviewed earlier, the most accurate picture preset on the LX9500 was THX Cinema, which delivered a relatively linear grayscale (except for dark areas) and gamma (averaging a nearly-perfect 2.21) while maxing out at 36ftl, quite close to our 40ftl target.
