The flat-panel size is light weight and assembling the base on to it was also simple.

The colors are very nice and the sound from the internal speakers is actually probably the best I have heard on a flat screen TV of this size (better than my Samsung that cost $200.00 more) I was really surprised by the overall picture quality.

Its a great tv for watching blu ray or HDTV but dont plan on playing XBOX 360 on it there is a lag in the tv, but i have done some reading and it looks like almost allTVs with 120Hz has the lag.

Summary for those who don't like to read: 4 stars based on price and performance; doesn't knock your socks off but does a great job for the price.

Luckily I just bought a 32" panasonic viera for my bedroom, but even at 10 inches smaller and only 720p, it's incredible how much better the picture is than this 1080p 42" phillips.

The picture quality is well above average and the sound quality is as well.

At least, it is easily the best available large 1080p HDTV for the price (at least for now).

Panel

Even if the LCD screen had not had the defective pixel, I still would not rate this TV very well as the screen sharpness was not great, although the viewing angle was quite good compared to other low-end HDTV's I'd seen.

Wii also looks very nice up on the screen in wide screen mode.

The tv has a very amazing picture when connected to a bluray player, but once connected to xbox360, thats a different story.

This TV is absolutely great ... I do not know why nobody has made a useful comment about this product ... I bought it for my Xbox 360 and the PS3 too, and the quality of the image and sound is AWESOME ... I love it!

It is a very nice little tv, great picture quality, even without the HDMi cables.

Good picture quality, it has a HDMI port on the side to hook up my Roku, and a great price.
Philips 3000 Series 19" | Rated 100% by by jn-baltimore (Oct, 2012)
Lately HDMI1 and HDMI2 stopped recognizing connected equipment but HDMI3 continued to work fine for all equipment (TV Cable Box, ROKU box, Philips DVD home theater).

Ports

No big deal but the USB option is quicker and easier in my opinion.
