5000 Series (2010) by M.-John--MPJ (Mar, 2011)The screen is a nice size I honestly cannot tell the difference between this and a 42" although I can tell a difference between 40" and 37" TV.
5000 Series (2010) by Wind_Shadow (Feb, 2011)Someone here posted that Samsung makes the panel for this set and if so, this would make sense because it's as nice as the best quality Samsung sets that I've seen.
thickness
5000 Series (2010) by Jeri-Zerr--formerly-a-Road-Warrior-of-the-Nth...The jacks on the back would be next to impossible to connect when using with a slim wall mount so instead if you plan to mount this HDTV to a wall I highly recommend the articulating mounts so you can swing the tv away from the wall.
5000 Series (2010) by Ron-Gonzalez (Oct, 2010)Unfortunately I had to return this TV, as it is not very sexy and not very thin and while the 240hz picture quality is good, I was not impressed by the sound at all.

power consumption
5000 Series (2010) by dawiese (Jan, 2011)Also, when in either of these modes, the video takes a bit longer to decode and lags behind the audio if your porting directly to your audio system, which may be why my Wii system lags enough to to make it nearly worthless to play.

Audio quality
Philips 5000 Series (2010) 55" | Rated 100% by by Summer (Apr, 2011)The built in surround sound is amazing.
Philips 5000 Series (2010) 55" | Rated 40% by by Alexander-Kostromin (May, 2011)Thus I have to buy a special converter from digital to analog audio to be able to connect my existing audio system.
Philips 5000 Series (2010) 55" | Rated 100% by by Shawn (Jan, 2011)As long as I use the TV without the surround sound, all is well.
Gaming
Philips 5000 Series (2010) 55" | Rated 100% by by J.-M.-B. (Dec, 2010)We hooked up our PS3 and Xbox 360 to it and it is perfect for gaming 240hz = 1ms response time so no lag.
Philips 5000 Series (2010) 55" | Rated 100% by by Summer (Apr, 2011)So far I have used it to watch tv, play dvds, play netflix, as well as xbox 360 games.
Philips 5000 Series (2010) 55" | Rated 100% by by Wind_Shadow (Feb, 2011)I'm no video gamer, so I can't testify to its performance with an xbox or ps3, but others have and seem to love it.
Network
Philips 5000 Series (2010) 55" | Rated 60% by by J.-Pingel (Feb, 2011)The WIFI Mediaconnect that is supposed to allow you to project your PC to the tv through your network does not.
Philips 5000 Series (2010) 55" | Rated 100% by by Jeri-Zerr--formerly-a-Road-Warrior-of-the-Nth...Using the included dongle (wifi adapter) it took just minutes to connect our HDTV to our home wireless network to watch Netflix movies directly through the HDTV.
Design
Philips 5000 Series (2010) 55" | Rated 40% by by Alexander-Kostromin (May, 2011)When a manufacturer excludes the most standard thing from the design it looks to me a mockery.
Philips 5000 Series (2010) 55" | Rated 40% by by Alexander-Kostromin (May, 2011)Lack of low frequencies (basses) in sound is normal for such a small design of audio system therefore I have attempted connecting a computer loudspeaker, but I found no 3.5mm jack which is standard for audio equipment.
Ethernet
Philips 5000 Series (2010) 55" | Rated 20% by by Robert (Jan, 2012)The picture would start to freeze on any of the inputs (HDMI, Ethernet, Component etc.).
