The D6500 also measures 1.5 inches deep, which is plenty thin, albeit slightly thicker than the 1.4-inch depth of 2010 models, such as the PNC7000 series.

I sit 13ft away from the screen and I love the picture, and now I have a TV that is the perfect size for my room.

The 46" screen is perfect for the size of our room.

This set is very thin for a Plasma, almost as thin as the LG.

When we didn't have our soundbar hooked up, it was just really nice sound- not at all flat like you would expect from a television that thin.

LCDs can still get brighter, especially in larger screen sizes, but modern plasma screens handle ambient light better than ever, and aside from the VT50, I haven't seen any TV do it better than the PNE6500.

Very easy set up, great picture quality, razor thin screen and blu rays look phenomenal.

It is really bad on hockey games or when watching 3D movies, making them completely unwatchable.

Not overly impressed with the 3D mode with the glasses and everything either but I did not really buy it for that either.

Panel

1080 HD resolution in 3D made this better option that LG, although LG 3D is still very cool and passive 3D glasses are really cheap.

You have to wear the 3D glasses to enjoy the 3D effects, which will add to the cost of the TV if you didn't get in on the combo deal.

beautiful/stunning. The colors are amazing and I can begrudgingly agree with my family that the 3D looks great as well.

3d

I shopped real hard when deciding to upgrade to 3D and, as expected, the plasmas had the best picture for both 2D and 3D.

The picture is amazing... I wish It came w/ the 3D Glasses.

I liked the passive 3D on the LG because the glasses were so cheap, and the effect was pretty decent.

Picture quality

Very vivid colors, crystal clear picture, and I think the sound is great (compared to our old 44" Magnavox LCD).
Samsung 6500 Series 51" (2011) | Rated 100% by by Laura-G.--Laura (Jun, 2011)
The colors are crisp, vivid and real: The black is really black, not a dark gray like on other screens, so the contrast is really, really good.
Samsung 6500 Series 51" (2011) | Rated 100% by by Jack24 (Aug, 2011)
TV has a bright clear picture, black level very good.

Content

In resume i love it, I don't know if is because is my first LED tv, but it is everything I was expected from Samsung and is better so far, I'm using 2 weeks now, and I can't see movies o games again on my old TV.::::UPDATE.

I have my Xbox hooked up to the TV, and gaming is great with no ghosting or blur.
Samsung 6500 Series 51" (2011) | Rated 100% by by Jonathan-P.-Smith (Sep, 2010)
Quality greatly depends on the content, but I am impressed.

Type

I've owned an LED television, as well as an LCD rear projection television, sony and samsung respectively.
Samsung 6500 Series 51" (2011) | Rated 80% by by Jane (Jan, 2012)
Since it is a plasma, it truly does have better picture, richer colors, and deeper blacks than an LCD.
Samsung 6500 Series 51" (2011) | Rated 100% by by ivanhoe (Aug, 2011)
Although it is not 3D, the 40" 6500 LED has a high density of pixels per inch that it does not display the "screen door affect" found in older generation plasmas and LCD.
