TL515 by R (Dec, 2011)What more can be said after the title... The screen size (42') is in truth much larger than it sounds.
thickness
TL515 by Christian-M.-Mericle--Computer-Geek (Feb, 2012)* Toshiba has better aesthetics (TV is very thin, frame finish is nice, chrome accents are attractive, base of pedestal is glass).
TL515 by Matt-S. (Jul, 2011)The sound is pretty good for such a thin TV, as expected bass is lacking.
Performance Real world tests of Toshiba TL515
black levels
TL515 by Maverik (Dec, 2011)The Black levels are amazing, color is perfect, all in all, an incredible picture.
TL515 by c|net (Jul, 2011)When we set static gamma to reveal full shadow detail (about 8), the bright part of the image washed out; when we lowered it to zero, shadow detail was crushed.
contrast ratio
TL515 by Christian-M.-Mericle--Computer-Geek (Feb, 2012)* Toshiba has much better picture quality (color, deepness of black levels, contrast, clarity, and evenness of backlighting).

Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 100% by by tang32 (Jan, 2012)I bought this TV about a week ago and it is perfect for me love everything some short comings the auto dimming switches alot sometimes during daylight times but not bad and I wish there were more apps for the internet but really good picture and the the 3D is good I havent yet watched a 3D Movie if you just watch it on regular movies it adds depth but thats about it so I cant wait to watch a 3D movie... I love It.
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 100% by by pdxtodd (Feb, 2012)the Passive 3d is just fine, and the 2d to 3d conversion is enjoyable, but I doubt we'll use it much.
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 100% by by Rick--Rick-Andrews (Dec, 2011)The 3D via Xfinity's two 3d channels is great.

Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 100% by by Marty-Cloran (Dec, 2011)The 3D is amazing and the 2D to 3D conversion works better than we had expected although not as good as native 3D.
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 20% by by blondeslover (Mar, 2012)& really cool, switching what ever you are viewing on the TV screen from 2d to 3d feature is really cool but not all that great, at least I had lots of fun with it; I remember watching some show about marine life in the ocean using the 2d to 3d - I had a great time experiencing it, I really like it.4 pairs of glasses for the 3d stuff.
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 100% by by carlo (Nov, 2011)i only have avatar 3D on bluray and have to say that this TV brings the 3D theater experience at home, all with comfortable, lightweight, inexpensive, passive 3D glasses (includes 4).
Picture quality
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 100% by by Nam-Hoang (Dec, 2011)The color is crisp and sound quality is good, but I hooked it up to my surround sound system speakers.
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 100% by by Gernsheim1 (Jan, 2012)I purchased the 42" Toshiba LED TV a little over a month now and everyone in my house is still enjoying it's crystal clear picture, ease of use, and quick access to the net.
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 100% by by Jeff (Feb, 2012)The 2D picture is amazing colors look crisp and blacks are dark.
Content
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 60% by by D-St (Nov, 2011)I play fighting games, so every ms counts, in gaming mode I was doing almost just as good as with my old monitor.
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 60% by by D.-Huynh (Jan, 2012)Connected to the ps3, it looks good and games play flawless without lag.
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 100% by by B.H. (Mar, 2012)I would however recommend setting Film Stabilization to "Standard" while playing timing-sensitive games (First Person Shooters, Rock Band, Fighting games, etc.).
Video
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 80% by by John-Hempstead (Feb, 2012)The screen with 1080p and 240Hz has a crisp appearance that is rarely seen outside of the stores that set up HDTVs in ideal conditions.
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 100% by by P.-Danesi--grandfather-of-6 (Jan, 2012)Unfortunately, it was non functional out of the box from a video quality picture.
Toshiba TL515 42" | Rated 20% by by blondeslover (Mar, 2012)Picture quality for older movies - I have a vhs dvd 2 way recorder with 1080p , I always set it on 1080p but from this TV the picture quality ( I guess its Vhs quality) can not compare to my 6 years old Samsung LCD TV ( I bought it before LED came out).
