TL515 by R (Dec, 2011)What more can be said after the title... The screen size (42') is in truth much larger than it sounds.
thickness
TL515 by Christian-M.-Mericle--Computer-Geek (Feb, 2012)* Toshiba has better aesthetics (TV is very thin, frame finish is nice, chrome accents are attractive, base of pedestal is glass).
TL515 by Matt-S. (Jul, 2011)The sound is pretty good for such a thin TV, as expected bass is lacking.
Performance Real world tests of Toshiba TL515
power consumption
TL515 by c|net (Jul, 2011)We did not test the power consumption of this size in the Toshiba TL515U series, but we did test the 47-inch model.
TL515 by B.H. (Mar, 2012)Even using the "Smooth" setting on the Film Stabilization Menu, games were smooth and lag free.
black levels
TL515 by Maverik (Dec, 2011)The Black levels are amazing, color is perfect, all in all, an incredible picture.
TL515 by c|net (Jul, 2011)When we set static gamma to reveal full shadow detail (about 8), the bright part of the image washed out; when we lowered it to zero, shadow detail was crushed.
contrast ratio
TL515 by Christian-M.-Mericle--Computer-Geek (Feb, 2012)* Toshiba has much better picture quality (color, deepness of black levels, contrast, clarity, and evenness of backlighting).

Toshiba TL515 47" | Rated 100% by by Marty-Cloran (Dec, 2011)The 3D is amazing and the 2D to 3D conversion works better than we had expected although not as good as native 3D.
Toshiba TL515 47" | Rated 100% by by Nam-Hoang (Dec, 2011)The passive 3D technology that convert any 2D TV show, movie on DVD, and Netflix into 3D works really well.
Toshiba TL515 47" | Rated 80% by by Christian-M.-Mericle--Computer-Geek (Feb, 2012)I have not yet used full 3D since I haven't connected a 3D Blu-ray player, but the 2D-to-3D conversion adds a nice amount of depth to the picture.

Toshiba TL515 47" | Rated 100% by by tang32 (Jan, 2012)I bought this TV about a week ago and it is perfect for me love everything some short comings the auto dimming switches alot sometimes during daylight times but not bad and I wish there were more apps for the internet but really good picture and the the 3D is good I havent yet watched a 3D Movie if you just watch it on regular movies it adds depth but thats about it so I cant wait to watch a 3D movie... I love It.
Toshiba TL515 47" | Rated 20% by by blondeslover (Mar, 2012)& really cool, switching what ever you are viewing on the TV screen from 2d to 3d feature is really cool but not all that great, at least I had lots of fun with it; I remember watching some show about marine life in the ocean using the 2d to 3d - I had a great time experiencing it, I really like it.4 pairs of glasses for the 3d stuff.
Toshiba TL515 47" | Rated 100% by by pdxtodd (Feb, 2012)the Passive 3d is just fine, and the 2d to 3d conversion is enjoyable, but I doubt we'll use it much.
