Black levels on the UT50 series are about the same as what we saw on the superb flagship TC-P55VT30 a year ago, which is almost unbelievable in such a cheap TV, and while the sparse color controls give little wiggle room, color accuracy isn't an issue.

For 50" and under screen sizes just about everything I've read says 720 vs 1080 is virtually indistinguishable.

I performed a hands-on evaluation of the 50-inch TC-P50UT50, but this review also applies to the other screen sizes in the series.

As usual, the best way to evaluate its efficiency is to compare it with like-size displays after calibration to a constant light level.

In practical terms that means other companies' glasses that also support the standard should work with this Panasonic; Samsung's $20 SSG-4100GB glasses do, for example.

The tv will make your room warmer since it puts out a lot of heat i love it for my playstation 3 and bluray movies.

Although this TV does produce very good quality picture and sound, the panel is not very efficient.

Great motion resolution and if you're inclined it even has 3D.

I would give this television 4 stars because you are compelled to use Panasonic branded products for the 3d glasses and the wireless internet, but the Panasonic Branded accessories are excellent, and well worth the money.

Panasonic has been putting out plasma's for many years and this is yet another great example of why I'll always choose plasma over LED/LCD any day.
