“55
LED-backlit
Rated 100% by by Patrick-Picklesimer (Mar, 2012)I did a TON of research before my purchase, weighing the Pros/Cons of Plasma vs. LCD vs. LED, price, picture quality, number of HDMI ports, 3D, internet capability, 720p vs. 1080p, etc..
55”
Rated 100% by by Meisterstuck-Rollerball-Pen (Dec, 2012)Picture is top quality even though we have 14 foot windows facing west and south which get late afternoon sun (part of reason for going with LCD and not plasma for this room).

8000 Series (2011 LCD) by c|net (Apr, 2011)We performed a hands-on evaluation of the 55-inch Samsung UN55D8000, but this review also applies to the other screen sizes in the series.
7500 Series by Dio-A.-Delfino (Feb, 2013)I've previously had a Sony XBR3 (circa 2008), and I would say that the size of the Sony XBR and the other older TV versions makes the screen bigger.
thickness
8000 Series (2011 LCD) by Stephen-Gates--Steve-GThere is no denying that this TV looks beautiful with it's thin edge and it's slim design makes it look fantastic when you out it on the wall.
