just like any really HD product, you need other things to go with it, the tv itself is a great tv, the picture is better then what some non sony tv's have, even in 2D, BUT, as with all 1080p and 3D tv's, if you want true 1080p and you want your 3D movies and games to look right , you need better HDMI cables then low dollar cables, most low buck cables are 1.3k , you need 4k or 3D ready HDMI cables.

The ET5 series sees the company continue the good work of previous years with LED-backlit IPS panels, said to enjoy a wider off-axis than some other LCD designs.

The Sony set up menu is beautiful, easy and intuitive to use and very complete-"Apple TV" is easily added as an HDMI source on the menu of sources.

The other big surprise is passive 3D, which is essentially an LG technology; Panasonic was one of the first companies to embrace and champion active technology.

We performed a hands-on evaluation of the 46-inch Sony KDL-46EX720, but this review also applies to the other screen sizes in the series.

Just make sure you set your correct screen size, most people complain about why their 3d isn't working or is greyed out in games.

Super thin with a nice thin stand so it fits comfortably on the TV cabinet and against the wall.
BRAVIA EX720 Series by Inksnatcher--Sally (Jul, 2011)
At any rate, the picture has better color depth than the Sony and I was surprised because the Sony was great.

The high point of this set is 3d if you have small kids I would recommend this set due to the inexspensive 3d glasses.

I gave it 5 because it was given 5 by 8 happy kids watching 3d movies who gave it 9.5/10 and they are 3d fanatics spread out over a fairly wide angle.
Rated 100% by by Steven (Feb, 2013)
I have no wish or need for the 3D support, but it is nice that this is passive 3D.
